Just out of curiosity. How many views to a page/month are we looking at to earn a decent amount of extra money through PPC? Understanding that traffic isn't everything.. but on average? Kyle |

It simply depends on the keywords you have attached in your campaign to make money. You can't predict the average number of clicks to your campaigns, it's not fixed.

| Yea this is spot on. There are just way too many variables to even begin to guess. Your cost per click for one, how well optimized your ad is, is it targeted. These are all things you have to test and tweak. Then another thing is the cost of your product as well. This will directly effect how many people buy it, all related to the previous factors mentioned.

In my limited experience with PPC I've found that there are just to many variables to answer this question. Things like keyword competition, keyword relevance, consumer targeting, ad headlines, ad copy, landing/capture pages for conversion, just to name a few. I've also found that if you're converting 1% to 2% visitors into subscribers or customers you're doing really well. 2% being the industry average. Based on this, if you do the math you get a very "rough" picture of what to expect. |

Perry Marshall says you can get away with 30 clicks per ad to get a rough feel. Another article I found by some serious Search Engine marketers says 100 is good, maybe 50 but they don't like to. So I believe that rough rules of thumb DO exist and if anyone can add to or challenge these numbers, I would appreciate it, as I have found that few things in life are really as vague as "just test." |

It just depends on keywords covered by your website and also the traffic quality your site receives and has online. Sometimes due to presence of targeted traffic, websites might be found generating thousands of dollars, even for a few hundred clicks while other sites can be found generating hundreds of thousands of page views on a monthly basis but their admins still might not seem that satisfied with the outcomes because not many people may click on the ads. Trying to boost your web traffic and adding valuable contents to your site can be among recommended methods and also do not try to stick with top-paying terms and then creating contents to target them, such a strategy may not work always. Try writing better and in an expert way, believe it or not this is the main issue many times which can directly affect earnings because quality contents will absorb clicks, and sometimes big clicks will bring you a lot of money. |

This is going to depend on a lot of factors firstly what do you consider "a decent amount of extra money?" Also what niche are you marketing in? What traffic source are you using? what is your monthly/daily budget? How are you monitizing the traffic? affiliate sales, product sales, leads???? And thats just to mention a few variables, a little more info would be useful |
