Default Niche Site - What SEO to start-off?

Hi guys,

since this is going to be my first niche site I really want to get things right from the start, especially because I see decent potential in this niche and very good chances to rank nicely.

I have my WordPress site ready now and I'm going to shoot up that content on the site.

Now, since the domain age is around two months and it was never been indexed before (disabled it on purpose), I am really worried about throwing too much backlinks at it and get flagged.

What would be the way to go here? How many backlinks per day and what type of backlinks?

Looking forward to your answers.

Thanks,

Kolohe

Personally i would have gone for an older domain, in my experience they seem to be more stable and they can take more links. I would start with article marketing and a press release. Both with about 2 anchor text links in the body of the article and press release, then start building links at around 10 a day. The key i find is to be consistent and slowly build up the amount of links to your site over a long period of time. It is a marathon not a sprint. Good luck with your new site.

I would say lower than 10, a handful to start with per day at most. Don't forget that you'll more than likely end up with more than just 5 or 10 links if you're submitting to blogs, directories etc. thanks to their structure. What may be 1 submission for you may result in 10 or 50 or more actual links.

I would start with a mixture of directories and dofollow blogs.

16 backlinks per day, use a mixture of links not just one type, then up the amount to 23 per day and so on.

I agree that an aged domain makes the SEO process a lot easier. But finding an aged domain that's relevant to the specific niche that you choose can be somewhat tricky.

For new websites, it's always best to start with social bookmarking. That way it appears as if people are sharing your content. Then google believes that the backlinks that you create later are more legitimate.

A massive surge of backlinks without social sharing is a lot less believable.

nothing to see here....

**Smacks Forehead**

Think logically for a minute you'll realize why you're asking the wrong questions.

Question 1, what would you do if this site was for a real business.

1. You'd submit a real press release (webwire is a great place, but it's $25)

2. You'd spread the word via social bookmarks and facebook and twitter

3. You'd leverage the relationships in your market. You'd guest post, or maybe even just "hey, I just got my new site up, take a look if you get a chance". Maybe they just link to natrually.

4. You get involved in the blogging community by manually commenting on blogs. Not only for links but so other readers see those comments and click through to your site.

5. You syndicate your content. You submit your articles to ezine. You turn those articles into PDFs and submit to doc sharing sites, you turn those articles into Power Points and submit to slideshare and other similar sites. Then turn those PPTs into video and submit to the video sites.

6. If necessary you join something like BMR and submit the max amount of links per day.

Do this from day 1, and don't listen to people that say you can only build x links. It's an uninformed answer, period.

Treat your website like a real business and you'll quickly find clarity to most of your questions.

I would say that you should start from blog commneting. Grab a list of commntluv powered blogs and do 5 blog comments daily you will get few but power links which will help you to boost the reputation of your website. If you already have enough content than rather choosing all of them at once why don't you exclude the most high quality content and use that content for now in the meanwhile you can improve the quality of rest content

I would start by writing content for your blog, at least 5 articles 500+ words, then can go to social bookmarking, blog commenting, forum signature and directory submission. Of course having in mind that all would be done manually.
