Default Improving Conversion Rate

This is my first post on the Warrior Forum, even though I have been reading for a couple of months now.

I'm building an authority site, which started to supplement my Amazon sales business, with some FAQ's and Guides for questions people asked a lot. I have since found out the importance of SEO and have set out my sights on building an authority site ranking for multiple keywords.

So far my efforts have created top 30 ranking for two keywords and top 100 ranking for numerous others. I'm still going hard and shooting for the first page on everything.

On to my question...

Right now I have a CTR of about 7% on my site (i.e. people follow links on my site to Amazon). I still have a 0% conversion after about 700 unique visitors to my site in the past two weeks.

I'm wondering what you guys would recommend to increase conversion. Try Adsense, eBay affiliate etc.

This is a good niche, which I've been selling through personally for over a year. I know people buy well, so I think its a matter of design.

Any input is appreciated.

- Adam

A large part of conversion is based on the keywords that you use.

There is a difference between "research keywords" and "buyer keywords." If you pick the right keywords, then visitors already have the credit card in their hands ready to make a purchase.

If you use research type keywords, then you have to convince the visitor that "buying" is the right thing to do. Which can be quite difficult.

nothing to see here....

Hi,

Exactly what co2 said.

The other factor could be that there are up and down periods for most every market. For example, I'm in several niches that generated a lot of sales during the holiday period, but have been slow after January 1st. Years of tracking tell me that this is normal and that they will pick back up around March.

Thanks guys.

My 2nd main keyword keyword is definitely a buying keyword, where my number 1 is in between the two I feel.

I've been attempting to develop other 'buying' keywords which should increase my success.

I'm pretty happy with where I'm going. I've been setting daily goals for links/articles/posts and been growing consistently ever since I started.

Like others have said it's all in the keywords you pick which results in more or less targeted traffic. On my main Amazon site I am getting a click through rate of about 70% to Amazon and then from that I get about 4% conversion rate.

Yes, this is exactly right. I find that conversion is directly related to the quality of your traffic. If you are selling big red boots and you have people coming to your site that are looking to buy big red boots, you are going to make some sales!

If you have people browsing or surfing the net just for fun, and they stumble upon your site, they are not likely to buy because they aren't in the buying mindset.

Just wanted to follow up really quick.

After posting and bookmarking some good content, and backlinking a little more, I managed to rank 24 for my buyer oriented keyword....and as a result made $20 yesterday alone.

I'm going to continue my consistent onslot of backlinking/content/bookmarking and shoot for that #1 spot, which I believe is fairly obtainable in the next month or so.

Thanks again for the replies guys.
