Obviously Google+ is becoming a bigger factor for ranking with Google, but does anyone have some specific strategies on the best way to use Google+ to achieve higher rankings?

It surely is a topic to discuss. I have been using some strategies to get sites ranked for ORM. It's good to use it with the "rel=author" linking to the. Liners Google plus account and it shows up in searches fairly quickly.

Also I have noticed that its not so hard to get Google plus pages, which helps them get ranked quicker too. Not very sure if it's Googles way of promoting it as a preferred search engine network, as I know they have been stuging to beat FB and get people over to G+.

For now, it's just:

-using rel=author on your posts
-setting up a google+ page for the site. link it to your site with rel=publisher and encourage visitors to add you to circles.
-adding your +1 buttons to each page.

It doesn't quite affect natural rankings yet, but you want to be ready for the day it does.

If you create a Brand page, it will ask you for the business phone number. If you enter a number that is associated with a Places page it pulls all the data from the Places page. I would bet that Google+ Brand pages will be the new Places page. So it would be a good idea to start setting up circles on your brand pages.

Using "rel=author" is a good strategy not only for Google+ specially if you have some interesting stuffs about your site just like this example (you can see jill whalen's name above her article). I have been using Google+ for month now and I've found out that having a good reputation and having your profile added by many users in their circle is a good start.

I am just posting some interesting stuffs and let Google+ users see and share it too. I think it has something to do with rankings because as long as they are sharing your post, you can get links from different sources. (just my observation since I'm not still good at using Google+)

To connect with more people, doing interaction to them and provide them unique and useful content which they liked.

It's interesting how Google pursues its audience to getting more attention. I have to say I have seen this like 6 months ago happening, but did not expect it to happen this soon.

Google+ now demands complete attention to anyone serious in their online presence. People would now create a full online marketing strategy to get more followers on their Google Plus pages - and with Google it's not about just noting that you LIKE a page but actually warrants you to Follow.

I can see nice ideas posted here and I guess this is where us marketers really fall into, adaptation.

Getting Google plus followers mainly promotes better content published on your pages - promotion is vital, and you have to both have personality and officiality in your Google Plus pages.

So now it's not just getting your exposure everywhere with your website, it's exposing your Google+ Page everywhere as well.

Think of it like performing an SEO campaign with your Google+ Page.
