The general idea is right, but it does depend on where the backlinks come from - a site with 100 high quality backlinks can be more difficult to beat than one with 10,000 low quality ones, so you need to look a bit deeper. Free SEO Software | The Best PPC & SEO Management Tool -Traffic Travis (the free version) is a good tool to give you an idea of the level of competition for keywords. |

No more than 100? Well, if you can find keywords with some decent EXACT match searches with that competition, you can surely do well. *of course, your experience may differ |

Hi Spen, Try going to the Google external keyword tool . Type in keywords related to the niche you wish to be in. For example, 'dog training advice', don't use this example it's most likely very high competition. But for example, say you typed that in, you want the data to come back with low competition, and high searches. You can go to Google and type in "dog training advice" with the quotation marks, and the number of results that come up will be your competition. I'd say aim for 70,000 and below competing pages. This way it will be easier to rank for your keywords. Also when searching check the exact match type box and uncheck broad match type, this way the results you get back will be accurate for the keywords your researching. Just keep digging into keywords until you get low competition and high searches, it can take some time, but it's essential to you and your future business that you do good research. Hope this helps! Jack. |

I use a piece of software called Micro Niche Finder (you should look it up) It costs a bit of money but I couldn't do my niche research without it any more. Notice there is no affiliate link, I think its that good that I don't need to make any money off it. |

| You are driving up your post count at an amazing rate lately, and with nothing to say. Just for the sake of efficiency, it would save a bit of my time and the WF database if you could give it a rest for awhile. Odd user name, and makes me think you're a guy. |
