I have a question regarding backlinks. Say I create a social network article that directly links my keywords to my main site. then say I create a profile link to the social network article as a backlink to that backlink which will obviously not have any keywords just the link to the title of the article I wrote for the social network site. Question is if they both happen to get indexed, would they both count as backlinks to my main site givin the best possible outcome.... or just the social network article I wrote initially since the forum pofile wouldnt have any keywords or direct links to my site?

Tiered linking, sending backlinks to backlinks, is a good idea for indexation and giving more power/juice to the links. It's also a good way to avoid 'blasting' your main site with 'spammy' links.

No. Link to your site...link. Link to the link to your site, is just that. In the scheme of things, it helps. Webmaster tools doesn't see a link to another site as a link to your site.
