Default Is my webpage in sandbox?

Hi ,

My website overall Pagerank is 4. I changed the content of one of my inner pages and redirected older URL to the new one.But its Pagerank decreased from 3 to 0 and despite of regular link building(not Spamming ) , I can't see any improvement in ranking. I didn't even purchased links. Is it due to the sandbox effect? If so then should I stop building back-links for the page? Please suggest.

It depends on what you consider the "sandbox". There is no official definition of "sandbox" by Google, because there is no "official sandbox".

However, there are effects that may in some cases mirror the (what we call) sandbox, and this has been confirmed by the head of Google's web spam group, Matt Cuts.

Are any of your other pages being dropped down in page rank or just the redirected one? It just seems abit odd. Also are any new blog posts getting indexed if not then you could have a problem. I would not stop linking as im my experience being consistant is the best practice.

Usually when you redirect an old site to a new site Google starts a very close scrutiny of both site's activities. any duplicate content or even a small glitch observed in the site is penalized heavily.
