It seems that for most of my targeted keywords (difficult or v.difficult) i'm stuck at positions 22 or 23 or + - 1 or 2. It seems that moving from page 3 or page 2 to page 1 if very hard. Any GOOD suggestions to beat those monsters in page 1 ? I have done all the white hat moves i could find. thanks |

Anyone that is good at onsite SEO, can often get to page 2 or 3. But getting to the top gets exponentially more difficult. You'd need a valuable link from a reputable site in your niche - if you want to go whitehat |

I'd focus on getting some quality high PR backlinks to drive you onto the first page. I'm not talking about 10,000 spammy profile links, I mean 50-100 links that are PR2 and up.

Get proper authority links and not the **** you get on here. Or just get 1000s of social bookmarks.

But nowdays getting good backlinks from my niches is not easy. Also social bookmarking seems to bring traffic but it doesn't convert at all. And didn't gave me any more ranking.

However, are you sure you do not put any links inside your comment? You comment must look like Name: Real human name, not like "CHEAP IPHONE 4" email: jon-doe@hotmail.com not like" dfjskfjsfsdlfjsdfos@hotmail.com" comment: insightful comment, with 3-4 sentences. Then it will get approved 70%.

You can either go for easier keywords, or simply get better backlinks than your competition. (Assuming that your on-page SEO is better than theirs as well.) I know that's a pretty broad answer. But really, that's what it comes down to. |

Analyse the backlink profile of your competitors and try to out do them. What niche are you in? Almost all the niches would have niche directories, getting listed in them is an easy way to get links with high relevancy factor. Also try if you can get backlinks from high PR sites using guest posts, sponsored reviews, high pr directory submission etc.

Do you have good on-page seo? Keyword optimized articles? Do you have good off-page seo? Link diversity, diversify your backlinks. E.g: not 100% of your backlinks are from blog commenting. Diversifty it to 10% blog comments, 10% social networking, 10% article submissions, 10% forum profiles, etc. Important note about off-page seo: High quality backlinks > low quality backlinks. |

At the end of the day without seeing your site we cant give you a more detailed answer. Tons of stuff affects your rankings and it may be something that you thought was ok that actually isnt. Is the content unique? Are the backlinks of good quality? Are the keywords you are aiming for properly optimized? Is the sitemap up to date and counting all the pages? Is it a relatively new site? You can do all you can do but if you are in a tough niche then it pays to check what your competition is doing. If you can better them then you will rise above them, ie if you can produce better backlinks and better quality content. Remember everyone has to follow the same rules when ranking on G. So do better than your competitors and youre all set. |
