Default Keywords for homepage?

How many keywords should a homepage have? I think I might be overdoing it. I have 44. Is that too much? It is a online flash game site. So I list almost every type of phrase I can think of for online games. Is this not good? I only get about 100 visitors a day. I launched the site 3 months ago. Have had 40,000 pageviews already.

Please check out my website and tell me how to make it better!

I don't understand the question. Are all of your games on the home page? Or are you just using these keywords in anchor text in your back linking? Some more details would be helpful.

Yes all are on my homepage. The individual games have there own keywords. My homepage does list all games but on multiple pages. So what I am asking is how many should I have in general? Even on my game pages I have about 15 or so. Is that too many? Would less be more? I am not sure I fully understand how to properly use these.

I think you should seo for each category. Put all keywords to homepage to seo very hard.

You can begin with long tail keywords...

I think you should re-write your url of category,
Code:
Ex: http://touchpadgames.com/?cat=3 to http://touchpadgames.com/Action-game
...

Yes it can be harmful for your site to have lots of keywords on just one page. And you should place your keywords and target for such pages on which you have the valuable content. And this way you can get more visitors by the appropriate keyword for the relevant content.

First compare the current visits with the previous visits which days have more counts. Note the reasons where the traffic lost. try to improve that. Other way is create the categories for games like sports, adventure and more. Give the related keywords to the pages.
Thanks,

It's better for you to target the most important keywords/phrases in home page of your website. For each subpage target other relevant keywords. It's advisable not to target too many keywords at a time for any of your websites' page.

I have been trying to do that but everytime I change the permalinks in wordpress the games don't load. I need to figure out how to fix that. It basically takes the whole site down.

But doesn't more keywords bring in more traffic? I mean if I have 40 keywords then I bring in all people looking for those keywords right? If I only have 5 then I get only those people.

I know it has to do with where you are on google and bing pages. I am number 1 if you search for touchpad games. How do I use this to my advantage?

Please check out my website and tell me how to make it better!

Just make sure that you include the keywords and your content still reads "natural"...don't over do it.
