Default Dough Nut

Just an example : 3 American Clicks From USA in a row and

1st - 1.03 Euro
2nd - 0.03 Euro
3rd - 0.11 Euro

WTF?!

Used to give 0.02 Euro once but I usually recived over 1 Euro for 1 Click, what's the problem?! Can I solve it? Maybe its untargeted ads in my nice? (Doughnuts - Link's in signature, check out) I think so but I must solve it somehow, coz if I'll have 10+ clicks a day,my earnings wont be more than 1 Euro,if someone has had a problem like this please help...

Recipe sites normally have low CPC's. I have a client with about a dozen recipe sites (all how to make...). All low CPC. Very easy to rank though.

Shambles.

Does it not depend on where the visitors have just being searching as well. All 3 visitors could have got shown 3 different ads depending what they have being searching for previous to visiting your website.

How many clicks? Unless you're looking at thousands (or at least hundreds) of clicks - you're just panicking for no reason.

the low clicks could be due to the quality of the traffic...how do you drive traffic? SEO?

You do realize Adsense isn't a fixed price right?

Anything related to the doughnuts keyword has got to be an extremely low CPC. I would expect something like $0.05 USD per click for that keyword.

If I remember correct, you have older forum threads here on WF that folks warned you about that keyword, & that it wouldn't payout much with Adsense.

These obviously aren't really related to your niche. The advertisers are doing what a smart content network advertiser does and targets their demographic rather than the direct market so they can get super cheap clicks.

Ask yourself what someone looking for doughnut recipes is going to buy - right there and then. Someone about to make a batch of doughnuts isn't in the mood to lose weight and they won't be buying doughnut recipe books when your site gives them what they need.

If I had to make money from that traffic I would give them the recipe via an email opt-in and try and get them to buy other cake style recipes over time. Still might not be worth it.

Nobody asked, but...

The ad colors, ad placement, etc. are just bad.
They hurt the eyes. You are probably getting people
to just click away.

I would do 336x280, article wrapped around.

Nothing personal there.

Anyway, in the end, people are people. Any ad has
the possibility of a click. But you have like zero
content for any adsense bot to crawl. So you send
it into a crapshoot-tizzy. Recipes are not content that
can really be crawled in an adsense way.

My humble suggestion is to allow image and text ads.
If you insist on that layout, I might actually make
one image only.

In reality, that doughnut site looks like it exists for
no reason other than adsense. You have ads crammed
above the fold. One must scramble to find any content.
And there really is none to speak of.

But, alas. People just go on with their badselves.

I would add articles on the history of doughnuts,
ways to dress them up, coffees that go with
them, special ways to use doughnuts, even
other baking articles.

I see this site is in position #16 for that keyword under a lot of youtube videos. Also, there are a LOT more searches for "how to make donuts". It also pays a lot more per click

Google will interchange results with both words.

It begs the question....how do you know they pay better?

Every site is different in the auction and targeting.

paulgl,

I'm really pleased that you're trying to help me dude, thank you for this! I didnt really understand what did you say about my ads? I should remove 336x280 (or what is it) from the site and make other ads image only? I always recived good clicks (1 Euro from USA,0.6 Euro from UK etc...) so what's your advice ?! Maybe I will use CPA or smth else? I dont think my site is worth to be monetized with amazon/clickbank,or if I'll get 1st position on the main keyword will I be able to sell it on flippa even for 300$ ?!
