Here's a diagnostic question: 10 year old domain with recent tune-up of on-page optimization. Quality content has been added. 2 months into the project and it's climbing the rankings like a rockstar. From almost being invisible to hundreds of visitors per day. We've been Doing steady backlinking: article marketing, blog posts, and social media (close to 10,000 fan page tie-in) and bookmarking (social ADR bot and Social Monkee) It's been ranking high for 50 keywords. We added WSO Matt Laclear's article service (750 backlinks) to try to get to page 1 for more keywords. Suddenly the site has disappeared from Bing/Yahoo and dropped in Google. Traffic cut by 70% overnight. Is this a slap from too many backlinks too quickly or just the bouncing around? I've never had a site bounce like this. Any and all opinions and responses are greatly appreciated. |

How many days has it been down? It sounds like a pretty aggressive gray hat backlink building strategy so... ya never know |

I noticed traffic slowing on Monday and then today just vanished. Yes I thought the 750 was a drip feed, but evidently it's put out at once and the "drip" is in the indexing.
