Maybe - It depends if you build backlinks to your linkwheel.

I think many people don’t realise is the backlink from the 2.0 property probably doesn't carry as much weight as people think it does. Say I build a profile on a PR6 domain with a 500 word article related to my website, it will hold some authority because of its domain but the page its self is PR N/A or 0 and I doubt I will get a PR of 1+ just with these profiles / pages. Now, If however I built backlinks to these 2.0 properties to increase their authority the weight would be passed down to my money site - Now this is link juice I think works when increasing page PR.

Build backlinks to your link wheel - It really works.

A linkwheel could be effective if you were to populate each property with quality content. If not, it will be short lived.

I experimented with link wheels and had no success. I stick to high quality (tier 1) link building. I consider link wheels as tier 2, and forums links a tier 3. Last year I use to focus on quantity, and it seemed to work, now I am happy with finding a few high PR backlinks for my SEO.

its a big question. if you just create some blogs and put your links there you will not get any benefit. the link wheel's web 2.0 should be form different servers and the posts should be created with perfect optimization. then for better result you can blast these web 2.0 with the xrumer.

When I create Link wheels I always prefer Unique contents for each web 2.0, Suppose if I create a 10 properties link wheel, I use 10 unique contents and 10 unique page domains related to the main keyword (but in the body I use the targeted keyword which I need rank), finally I close the wheel. I got superb result always.

Yes and no, it all goes back to your original keyword research. With 90% of keywords, you don't need that kind of effort. I get this question from people every day, but so far none has done proper keyword research to find the right terms as opposed to going for their "gold nugget" keyword, when if they found the other ones, and targeted them instead, they could in most cases get more traffic.

If you find keywords with 10% as much traffic as the one that would be your ideal keyword, then get 3-4 backlinks from authority sites(PR3 or Higher) for at least 10 of them, you will end up with a higher ranking, and more traffic. At the same time you would have as much as 100 times less competition, because, "everyone" tries to go for the highest traffic keywords, and ignores that low traffic ones.
