|  How important is domain SERP to other pages
If your domain page is just a landing page and you have 100+ internal pages. Does it matter that you target the interior pages for SEO rather than the domain page? In other words, will a higher SERP for the domain page increase or make it easier to rank for other pages or are they basically independent?

I would go out on a limb here and say the are independent but the domain index usually receives a higher page rank than the internal pages. I don't believe a higher serp on the main index page would have anything to do with how your other internal pages perform. Just add links to the internal pages with seo in mind....
