I am a member of a well known and respected link building network. I've noticed many of the blogs in the network are now down to Page Rank of 0, some are PR1, a few PR2. The page ranks used to be higher before Panda. For a lot of keywords, a PR1 or PR2 is really all I need, but I'm still wondering if these networks will hurt us in the long run with Google? Thanks, -Alice |

They don't hurt. But understand that most of these network's juice is not permanent anyway. You are only on the PR1 or PR2 frontpage for a short amount of time until someone else's posts push you off the front page. After that you only have a PR0 link. So make sure that you either keep posting to the network or that you have other link building in place to make up for the lost juice. |

The problem with networks is the owner don't link build them. Most people get awed by the shear number in a network, but few realize one PR6 backlink has more value than 3,125 PR1s. I'll repeat that again. One PR6 has more value than 3,125 PR1s, and only 10% of those might even get indexed in Google.. so with 3,125 PR1s, only 312 will get indexed -- that's very little value! Stop focusing on numbers (which can get your site sandboxed because it doesn't look natural), but focus on finding high quality links. |

They used to have more PR6 and PR5 before Panda. They've still got a PR4 blog but a lot of what I see now have lost page rankings. Does page rank still matter? Some people are saying it doesn't. What Google wants now is relevance. Help. -Alice |

If you've been building backlinks and your site isn't moving up in ranks, suspect the site. Make sure it loads fast and has good content. | |

Thanks, It's a new site based on Wanda and Paula's Amazonian Plan. That's basically where you concentrate on one page at a time. What I wanted to do a little differently was to make the home page full of posts to just build the site up as an authority site. Meanwhile, I would also be working hard on the product page. -Alice |

I'm still using Market Samurai and now they're using SEO Majestic's AC Rank instead of google's PR. This is kind of confusing because they ranks are different when you compare them. A site that gets a 2 with Majestic won't have any rank from Google. |

Of course, link building networks are still on-demand and working. They don't hurt your rankings, it will help your site to get even better in the Google SERPs and traffic.

Link building network is helpful and it will not hurt until the whole network get ban. If few of their blogs get ban then no worry. It will not hurt the other blogs and similarly if some of backlinks get low PR then you can build new backlinks with high PR....

Yes, link networks work. Doing a little of everything is the best way to go. The heavier the competition the more of everything you'll want to do. Spread it all out over time, and never stop building your "link network."
