Is article spinning for SEO not necessary?

I'm a newbie and have been reading mixed opinions on this forum about this.

I've read some views that say if you post a quality article on your site first, and then submit exactly the same article to various article directories, Web 2.0's etc, this is syndicated content and is ok. I read an article which used the example of news sites which have their articles all over the internet shortly after they release them.

However, there are many linkbuilding strategies on this forum which say you should spin your articles as they say you can leave a 'footprint' which Google can find etc..

Can anyone clear this issue up?

I don't think article spinning is a good idea for you to do some SEO in your website or blog. Due to the latest Google Panda update, your website or blog won't easily get ranked if you have content that is poorly spun. The best thing for you to do is to rewrite them by sentence manually.

Spinning is necessary,But you shouldn't use articles from your site for spinning.You can write a new article spin it and then submit to other directories.

What if you just submit EXACTLY the same article that you have on your money page to other article directories? Common knowledge is that Google will penalize you, but... is that real? Has anybody actually done a case study and proved it?

I do submit my article to 10 most popular article sites especially to Ezine Articles and bookmark the backlink.

What you really need to be asking yourself is this: "Will my finished product (be it spun or not) be able to convert readers into buyers?"

The thing is, if you don't spin the content and leave it intact, most of the pages used for backlinking will be added to the supplementary index of Google and won't be as useful as if you spun the content. Also, if you do spin, then chances are many more of the backlinks will even get indexed, as they will be viewed more like unique content.

It largely depends on how you spin your articles, if you do it just by clicking the "Replaces everyone's favorites" button, then the quality won't be high. I recommend manual deep spinning, 3 or even 4 levels deep.
