What you think about this keyword?

I found a keyword which has
100 000 EXACT LOCAL SEARCH per month
300 000 EXACT SEARCH per month
CPC is 0.70$
First page of google has different sites with PR1 - PR4

3# spot has 220 backlinks blabla.com/blabla/blabla.html
2# spot has 20 backlinks blabla.com/blabla/blabla.html
1# spot has 600 backlinks and has exact domain name (1 year old, PR1, Adsense site)

Is it worth trying? #1 site has 600 backlinks, most of them are PR1-PR4 links from blog comments and few articles backlinks. The site has 5 pages.

I'm really looking forward to outrank this first spot, because I'm very motivated since this site could earn pretty much.

Would You go for this keyword? If yes then why and if not then why?

I would have gone for it definitely, with so much earning potential the competition you mentioned is not too much and the top ones can be outranked with little effort i suppose. I am an SEO guy after all

And where did you check the backlinks? May be the tool you used didnot show all of them.

I found this keyword while my girlfriend was looking for something in google and the first page was thin adsense site. So I went home and checked this keyword from google keyword tool and voilaaa.

I don't have any great tool for checking backlinks, so I went to ahrefs.com and alexa.com and compared those informations and they were both showing almost the same amount of backlinks.

Check the site explorer of majesticseo.com . You might be surprised with the difference in backlink and will give you a more accurate feel of the competition.

according to the open site explorer it shows that this site has 1900 backlinks
according to seomoz it has 800 backlinks

However, I think I will still go for this keyword, since most of the backlinks come from very spammy blog comments...

1900 Backlinks is not so much and this can be beaten. If I were you, I would have gone for this keyword considering good search volume.

you can easily dominate those sites! just start with a good On Page optimized site and research the keywords very carefully.
then start with a steady and technical way. follow manual link building process. you will get that position very quickly.

I think you should go for it. Optimize your content, follow schema, embed some videos, optimize your images and once these are done, build backlinks targetting your keyword. It should not be a difficult game to win
