Hello warriors, I am working on new content curation software which is still in beta phase. I used my beta software to create a test site ( www.geek-journal.com ) . The site shows up on 3rd spot on google for the "geek journal" keyword. I looked on google keyword tool and "geek journal" receives 160,000 monthly global searches, now the puzzle is why my site which shows up on 3rd spot does not receive even a single hit from google! I sent some visitors to the site via paid traffic, and the bounce rate is very good, (around 40%). I really appreciate your insights. |

I am agree with Jeff Lepage. But it may be that you have not deleted history of your browser before checking the keyword rank. Be sure that Google instant search is off and you have cleared all history while checking keyword rank. Because if your keyword is ranking, it will surely get visits. Also check your google webmaster account, if you have. |

Sorry, but you shouldn't expect any traffic from ranking for this keyword. Make sure you use "exact" search. 2012-02-07_1245 - DCGuide's library |

The exact matches of your counts is too low. So you can not get more traffic even achieve the position. Thanks, Off Page SEO |

Broad search does not really help you out, you've got to go with the "Exact" searching that most people are using. I think you should build backlinks for this, since your keyword is "Broad" type.

And don't forget to log out of your Google account, if you're logged in, when checking SERPs. You'll see personalized results, if you're logged in, so you may not see "true" results when checking your position. Suzanne |

I have done this mistake thrice. However, I was lucky the first two times as the exact match also had good amount of traffic. But I got burnt in the third one. Good luck buddy. |

As they said, you need to set your keyword search to exact, but congrats nonetheless for getting your site to rank number 3! Well done! |

Yea, looks like your exact match = 12 local searches per month. And at a rough 30% of traffic estimate you're looking at an astounding 4 visitors per month! |

download mozbar and use to do a non-personalized search on Google for your keyword and see the results you get, your page might not be on page 1. Regards, Ahmed |

Hey FellowGeek, don't put too much pressure on yourself, you've got the broad match keyword ranking, but that doesn't mean you won't get the exact matching keywords...just need to redo your research and come out with the longer-tail higher-traffic keywords.
