Page Rank Recently Updated

If you guys own a site, have you recently checked your PageRank? I've checked some of the PR 1 sites I've been in before, and some of them have stepped up to PR 2.

But if you guys are going to check Google, you're going to notice that they're still stuck in PR 9. Well, at least from my point of view. My PR checker could be wrong.

Did your PageRank change, or not?

Pagerank is something fluid and it goes up and down according to the quality of your backlinks, altough I notice that sometimes the Pagerank is not 'real-time'.

Anyway.... why are you bothering checking Google's own pagerank? do you intend to compete with them?!!!

Mine went from PR 1 to PR 2 but its okay for me because I still have regular clients.

Yes, PR of some of our sites have increased. We are also happy to see an increase in the Pagerank of many of our customers. In fact, many customers have mailed us saying their PR has improved.

The Google PR and Alexa Ranking keep fluctuating but they dont actually hamper the traffic if that means to be from other sources apart from SEs.

My site from the signature increase from 3 to 5. Also a few site of mine take a higher PR.

I wouldn't really worry about Pagerank like that at all unless you are selling links (which I don't like to do). Pagerank is changing all the time, but updates in the toolbar are much less frequent. Your site's pagerank was already known to Google and won't drastically change your SEO rankings the moment the toolbar itself is updated. Also, much of your money should be coming from other sources too, although if you suddenly lost all of your keywords on the front page that would still be a massive problem. However, Pagerank doens't have nearly as much to do with SEO as it used to, but I would still try to keep an eye on it because it still plays a fairly important role.

The fact that Google's own pagerank dropped is what seriously surprised me. I thought they changed pagerank completely because both them and Facebook have reached a PR of 9. However, i did find a few sites still ranking 10 that I have never heard of. I am wondering if somehow the sites that are still ranking as 10 suddenly got an influx of links that shifted the rank for the sites that are traditionally on the front page? Hard to know. The ones ranking now include:

Universitas 21
EUA - European University Association
Europeana
Europeana

Some others are major departments of the government and Adobe which aren't surprising. But how are some of these getting a higher pagerank than Google?
