Hi Warriors, I have a few questions which have been bugging me for some time now about promoting quality articles on your site first before posting them to 3rd party sites. I plan to do this but not quite sure how. Here is what I have done so far: I have added a sub domain called tips rather than a blog site and plan to use this "tips page" to publish the articles. Now do i just post the articles on the sub domain with anchor links to the main website and leave it for a while before posting to the 3rd party sites? Or must i do something else as I am not quite sure how people will find the tips page anyway? Please can someone help. Thanks |

First, I would make the tips blog in a sub folder, not a subdomain, so it would look like this: http://yoursite.com/tips/ rather than http://tips.yoursite.com. I've read several compelling arguments that using sub folders will be much better for the ranking of your root site. Ideally, the blog portion of your site will merge seamlessly with the rest of your site. Since you seem to be running your blog on a blog software that is separate from your main site's files, you should make sure that the menu for your main site is on your blog, and make sure your blog posts are being linked to on your main site. If you have a simple static HTML site, it's hard, because I believe you'll need to manually update the pages each time you add a new post. If your main site isn't that big, and you don't have any rankings to worry about, you may consider redoing the site entirely in WordPress. It will make it much easier to manage. When it comes to syndicating your content, put the article on your own site first and bookmark it across as many bookmarking sites as you can. If you don't have access to proxies, you should get a service to do this. Then, after a few days, you can start sharing your content on other sites / article networks. Just make sure you always get a link back to your own site as the author. You want credit for each reprint you allow. I hope that helps. |

Thanks King Fu for the lengthy and very useful comments much appreciated. To clarify I am not using any blog software. The site is not static as its an online auction site which is updating constantly as there are timers. How do i bookmark it? And proxies is this something my tech guy can sort out or something that I can do myself? I have added 2 links in the author resource box is that what you mean? Thanks |
