Hey guys. I joined internet marketing about 3 months ago. I haven't really been pushing any products. Just working on building a blog and learning SEO. With less than 20 articles after 3 months I have a google PR 1. My articles must be fairly decent seeing as my bounce rate never goes over 5% even though I am only averaging about 450 uniques per month. I have only had time to work a little a week. But I made sure to make my articles valuable and entertaining. I am getting number one results for over 8 of my articles and the rest are at least on page one. I don't think that's too bad for tinkering around a few months learning. What do you guys think? |

It's easy to rank on page 1 for keywords nobody wants to rank for. So my opinion the answer is it depends. If you want to earn real money and not just have a hobby you will have to do more than tinker around though. |

I make a ton of money online, so much I have to keep reminding people. Really I Do.

Congrats, Sammy! You didn't mention how longtailed your keyword is, but any kind of success is definitely a step in the right direction! Now, it's time to take the knowledge you've got under your belt so far and turn it into something bigger/profitable. Just bear in mind that all keywords aren't quite so easy/quick to rank for. But, it sounds like you're learning what you need to so that you can take on some of the "bigger guys". Plus, by saying that you're focused on making your articles "valuable and entertaining", you're already one giant step ahead of alot of marketers out there! |

First of all - yes, you are doing a very good job. That is a decent amount of traffic after only a few months and your bounce rate is very good. The part of the story that's left untold is how commercial your keywords are. Do people find your website with a mindset that's ready to buy, or are they only looking to pass the time? If your goal is to make money, then you need to focus on "buying keywods." These keywords are typically more competitive than "informational keywords," but the extra work is more than worth it. |

Dude if you want to make money and a living online...you have to take things seriously, getting your site to PR 1 it's not a big a deal ....just recently Google did a PR update and some of my sites that were less than 15 days old went from PR0 to PR 4 and at the same time pulled in over 10k. Google dose a PR update every 3 to 4 months and if you drive some high pr links to your sites before this update happens you'll gain PR. The internet is huge and possibilities are endless so unless you take massive action and stop playing around the only thing that you'll be seeing in your online accounts are probably pennies |

I am taking the learning process seriously. I work a full time job at the moment so getting rich off the internet super fast is not my number one goal like a lot of the newbies. Besides. Deciding to just learn for awhile before promoting takes away the frustration of not making any fast sales. You go to school to be a doctor for years before you actually cut someone open. At least no one will die if you fail at internet marketing except for you hopes and dreams of making it big without any work. I just find it more helpful to learn about something thoroughly before I pull the motor out and start ripping the block a part. Thanks for your comments though guys. The reality is I am in the works of actually pushing and selling a new product. I have my action plan in place and we will see how it pays off. Sammy Tucker |

Not bad but if you really want to ear money through internet marketing, you really have to commit to it. Spend time and effort with it. I'm not saying you will not earn if you will only spend a little time but to really be effective, you really have to spend time with it.

You need to find a keyword that people actually searches for, and that can make you some cash. Unless you use adsense, where all traffic is good.

A question or two for the OP. Are you submitting your articles to directories like EzineArticles — or keeping them all on your site and promoting the articles via backlinks, etc.? |

Dont worry about PR but the traffic and how visitors engage with your site, from your stats it looks good for a newbie... Not sure if your in money making niche, if not put your efforts in a money making niche and have multiple monetization options. This one site is enough for you to proivde the experience to make it online... |

I am actually avoiding the making money niche... But the dating in break up niche I got into seems to be almost as saturated. The keywords I use are searched. Some over 2 million a month. Most of my keywords are short tailed. But some are long tail. I do not use adsense. I playing with as cheap as possible until I get everything down. Articles stay on my site although I have thought about starting some syndication. I tinkering with the idea of using videos as well to drive traffic. Right now I have just done an exceptional job at building backlinks... Not my favorite part of the job. Wish there was a quick method for finding the right blogs to comment on. You guys have also been very helpful as I have been watching the forum for a couple months now. Keep up the good work warriors! Sammy Tucker |

Commenting on blogs to get links is, more often than not, a huge waste of time. Most comments have to be approved before they're published - meaning that you could put work into a comment that never sees the light of day. Some blog owners delete all comments that have links in them or that use keywords instead of real names.Especially since you have limited time, quit the blog commenting and look for ways to build better links - like syndicating your articles or writing actual guest posts for blogs in your niche. In the end, you'll wind up spending the same amount of time working, but you'll have higher-quality links to show for it. | ||

Whatever niche you're active in make sure to test out a few advertising avenues (CB, Amazon etc.)... there's no point in working months to get a website to rank on the first spot if it doesn't make you money in some way. Regarding how many searches your keywords get make sure that your estimates are based on exact matches and don't forget to use a stats plugin to track everything. |

You have a bounce rate under 5%? Are you sure? haha. Anyway, good job on your site. Looks like you're on a good healthy path. Keep it up! |
