I would suggest check their SEO strategy to make sure they are not doing anything that will get you fast ranking on Google and get you banned from Google 6 month from now.

Many SEO expert use spinning tools to re-write articles in new way but this is a trick Google does not like trick it works for now but it may not always.

WHATEVER the cost may be, always make sure you get PROOF of their past work. Ask for recent projects they have done with proof (some on-page blurb) that they control the site. Check the niche and the competition of their resume to see what kind of results they get vs. your own niche.

Never hire anyone without proof of concept. Period. I don't care if it's $200 or $2,000.

One major factor is where the SEO provider is located. Personally, I see hundreds of dollars a month as excessive in most case unless they can pretty much provide results that will be worth at least double that much very quickly.

When hiring a Seo worker you must also check their feedbacks of their previous clients.. There are some who offer lower rates but work is good.. Most rates are 250$-500$ per month..

Whatever they charge that's an important issue. But you must also know their mode of works. Before hiring any individual please make sure whether the guy use any blackhat or something that could create a big issue on later! Ask him/her about the strategy he/she will follow while working for you. Check the strategy and ensure whether that can really work for you.
