It's good that your blog's PR has increased its PR. But I really don't get what you mean by this:

"but i found that my traffic from traffic is decrease."

If your traffic decreased, it means are you only relying to search engine traffic? Or do you also spend time building backlinks to different sources?

PageRank is a value using which the pages of your sites are evaluated by Google. There is no direct relation with your traffic. Also note: PageRank and SERP (search Engine Position Rank) are two different things

Your PageRank has basically nothing to do with traffic. Not sure why you think it would. PR is just a measure of the quality of incoming links. It is not a measure of your rankings or what traffic you can expect.

A reduction in traffic of just 12% could easily be attributed to natural variation! Don't go and try to make changes to anything just yet, you might cause more problems than you solve.

Hi,

Page Rank is Google's way of reflecting the QUANTITY of backlinks a page receives. It has no bearing on the QUALITY of the site or the authority of its domain. It IS, however, one of a number of factors Google will consider when establishing how to rank a site for a given keyword.

Google SERP rank on the other hand is a much more complex result of how "trustworthy" Google considers your page to be. This Trust Rank can actually be measured, but that's another matter. For now, just consider the simplest elements:

- Is your content on that page relevant to the keyword?
- Is the keyword you're trying to rank for well-represented on the page? (density)
- Is the primary keyword accompanied by related keywords to assure Google of the semantic relevance of your page? (LSI)
- Is the page linked to authority pages (i.e. is it a "member of an authoritative club")?
- Are there good quality pages linking back to your page?

This last point is the source of much grief, even among some very experienced marketers. There are backlinks and there are BACKLINKS, lol. Some are cheap and nasty and don't contribute much to your Trust Rank - but they will contribute to your Page Rank. Others WILL contribute to your Trust Rank significantly, without affecting your Page Rank in any visible way.

"Google Dance", by the way, is NOT a random occurrence nor is it any kind of sloppiness on Google's part. It is strictly related to a site's Trust Rank, which can be demonstrated quite easily.

So, to ensure that your page/site does well on Google, make sure you have great quality content, optimize it well for Google - but also for a human reader - get QUALITY backlinks - and... then do the same for ALL your pages in order to create a solid Semantic Environment. Update your site regularly.

And monitor your actual results on Google Analytics, paying particular attention to the number of visits you get from your ranking keywords (under traffic sources). Compare those actual results with estimates given by Google Keyword Tool and apply the standard statistical click distribution formula to figure out "how trusted" you are on that keyword at any given moment.

To do this, check your keyword in GKT. Use [exact] match - and let's say it says 1000 monthly searches on average. If you're at #1 on Google you might "count on" a statistical 40% yield (different yields for different positions, you can check that easily online - but be aware that estimates may differ somewhat, depending on your sources). So, 40% of 1000 is 400. That's how many visits you should get if you're 100% trusted. You CAN get more, because that's only based on the [exact] match, and there's more to all this than exact matches, but never mind. At first you'll have a job just reaching this number. So now check your GA and if it tells you you got 40 visits, this means you're 10% trusted. There's more to this than that, but this should be enough to get you started.

Monitoring your results is KEY to succeeding online.

Hope this helps paul

Congrats...

But I think you are not so familiar with this...

You should "choose" one of them...
1) Build a great PR (PR6++)
2) Increase the amount of traffic

Doing both of them in the beginning is hard especially for newbies. If you want to increase PR, you need strong and high quality backlinks, if you need traffic, you should check PPC advertising like Google Adwords.

I am still trying to figure out today how my blog dropped TODAY? from a PR4 to a PR3 yet traffic is up in the past thee months and back links are 20% more. I am producing the same content as usual. I can't get upset about it because it hasn't affected my placement that I am aware of.

QUESTION: If you add ALT text and IMG TITLES to your photos does this help or hurt your page rank?
