I registered the domain the page in question is on about a year and a half ago and created the specific page which I'm trying to rank for my keyword about 6 months ago. It's a decently competitive keyword but could be very profitable with over 1000 EXACT searches for it each day if I rank well for it considering the page is a sales page for a quality product of my own creation for its niche. I only recently (2 months ago) started building serious backlinks to it through MS + my own very well spun quality content. I've been doing most everything to the letter and I was climbing the SERPs steadily over the past few weeks and topped off at #22 in Google before dropping to #46 briefly 2 days ago and then disappearing completely yesterday and still today. I did a search for the keyword plus my domain and found me, so I know I'm not deindexed or anything like that. I'm just going to keep building links and varying the types of links I send to it as I move forward... BUT being that this is a campaign which I'm paying very close attention to I thought I'd ask for some thoughts here. Thanks guys. |

Hi, Give it a few more days. If it's down for more than a week, then something is strange. Also, review your onpage SEO, make sure that you have a large amount of good content, relevancy, etc. Signup for Google Webmaster Tools to get some insight as to how they are seeing your site. If it remains low, submit a reinclusion request and that may do the trick. |

Well thought I'd pop back in with an Update. I resurfaced in Google at #28 a couple of days ago and again today upon checking I'm off the grid once more. Again I can still search for my keyword plus my domain in google and it finds the page, so I know I'm still in Google, but not sure why they're putting me on page three to then knock me way back to then bring me back to page 3 only to knock me off once more. |

There are a number of things that can send a site dacing around like this: 1) If you build too many low quality links, i.e. blasting a site with scrapebox/xrumer 2) using the same achor text far too many times - When link building you want to remember to inlude anchor texts such as I found this great post on "your target keyword" that i thought i would share with you guys. - So if your keyword was losing weight I found this great post on losing weight that i thought i would share with you guys. 3) Have you recently changed your theme? sometimes with these seo plugins they really mess up your site as they conflict with some themes. i.e. ones which already have SEO options built in (I know from experience) The best thing you can do is continue to build QUALITY links, the rankings will stabilize eventually |

I could probably stand to vary the anchor text, I just use my keyword word for word every time. That's a good tip which I didn't think of if it's true.

Try getting higher PR links from press release directories and be sure to use lots of variation in your anchor texts for your future backlink campaigns. You are going to experience some modularity in your positioning and you can drop out temporarily especially with a younger domain that has few existing backlinks. My advice would be to keep building a variety of links slowly. |
