Default CTR Theme: After The Panda Update A Couple Weeks Ago

Do any of you guys still use CTR theme after the Panda update that occurred weeks ago? And if so, is your site/keywords still ranked high (1-3)?

i use ctr on a few sites but i have not noticed any major dips as all my sites have huge sitemaps filled with original content. If you focus on your content and expand your off page presence you should avoid alot of panda filters.

Yea me neither. Personally I don't think the theme of the site would cause too many issues with SEO. It could of course, but if you vanished off the first page your site is either dancing, or you have been bust for spammy links etc.

CTR is neat, but given Google's announcement last week about how they desire Ad units to be more disjunct from content, its clear that some of their default adsense unit settings would be considered too aggressive these days.

But, I haven't read a report yet of someone describing an increase in rank as a result of less aggressive ad placement. Assumedly these will come soon -- if we are to believe Google...

I had more than enough content. But I guess I can't be my own judge. I'm starting to think that my sites were flagged because I had the setting where two ads were connected within the text (wrapped around). 2 ads were there above the fold, including a link unit. Maybe it would have been better that I had one ad block at the top and one at the bottom.

Now if any of you guys had two ads that were connected within the content (where it looked like a skyscraper), and still were high in the SERP's, then I obviously had sh**** content.

All these themes designed to increase ctr/earnings are useless; just put one large rectangle block in the middle above the fold on your site and your CTR will be just as good as you can get with any one of these themes.
