I have a site that's only a year old but sees about 100k page views per month. Currently I don't have any adds but I'd like to start paying for my monthly server costs. Will something like Adsense generate a few bucks a month to offset my server costs? Any other ideas how I might monetize the site? Thanks, -Paul |

You can try to place CPA ads on your website or you could offer paid subscriptions on your website.

I'd think adsense would more than cover your costs with that many pageviews.

It would depend on the niche I guess. You could think about some CPA offers. If they are good, and free, you visitors will love opting in, and some of them pay $10 or more per lead.

Recursive programs are the best type of affiliate program. When you sell a continuity product – something people pay for on a regular basis to maintain their membership – you are also paid an affiliate commission on a regular basis. Google AdSense is the most popular option under this category, but there are also others. |

| CPM Advertising NetworksCPM advertising networks behave pretty much as PPC networks, except that you get paid according to the number of impressions ( page views) that the ads displayed on your site will generate. CPM stands for Cost per Mille or Cost per Thousand, and it refers to the cost for 1,000 impressions or page views. A website that generates 10,000 page views monthly displaying an advertising banner with a $1 CPM, therefore, will earn $10 monthly. CPM rates vary with the network, the position of the ad and the format. The better the network, the higher the CPM rate (because they have access to more advertisers). The closer you put the ad to the top of the page, the higher the CPM. The bigger the format (in terms of pixels), the higher the CPM. You can get as low as $0,10 and as high as $10 per 1,000 impressions (more in some special cases). CPM advertising tends to work well on websites with a high page views per visitor ratio ( online forums, magazines, etc) |

Which monetization strategy would be better for you depends on many variables: - type of content - do you have regular visitors or they just visit your once and then never come back (when you have regular visitors that come very often and you are using display ads (like AdSense) it tends to lower your CTR because those kind of visitors are already know your stuff and they are coming for your content and they are used to see ads so they do not click) - do you have targeted content on specific topic, - how many advertisers there are that want to advertise for keywords that you have optimized your websites - do you have content more about information or more about products, if you have review type of site it would be better to have some kind of affiliate products promoting. But after all you need to test different things and find the solution that suits you best ![]() Kris |

Thanks for all the great advice! Think I might give adsense a try and see what happens.
