Best way to monetize?

I have a site that's only a year old but sees about 100k page views per month. Currently I don't have any adds but I'd like to start paying for my monthly server costs.

Will something like Adsense generate a few bucks a month to offset my server costs?

Any other ideas how I might monetize the site?

I think that Google Adsesne would help you to offset your server cost. Google Adsense's advertisements have an average CTR of 2% and each click generates about US$ 0.3 for the publisher. Therefore, you would make about US$ 600 per month with Google Adsense which would be able to offset server cost as most servers do not cost more than US$ 600 per month

I'm trying to stay away from paid subscriptions but CPA is a great alternative.

It would depend on the niche I guess. You could think about some CPA offers. If they are good, and free, you visitors will love opting in, and some of them pay $10 or more per lead.

I would be careful using generalities when discussing Adsense "averages". I personally get an average of 15% CTR and I know a lot of others that have the same CTR.

Yes you should apply adsence on your site. 100 k page views can bring a good amount of money. So just go ahead and wish you best of luck.

Which monetization strategy would be better for you depends on many variables:
- type of content
- do you have regular visitors or they just visit your once and then never come back (when you have regular visitors that come very often and you are using display ads (like AdSense) it tends to lower your CTR because those kind of visitors are already know your stuff and they are coming for your content and they are used to see ads so they do not click)
- do you have targeted content on specific topic,
- how many advertisers there are that want to advertise for keywords that you have optimized your websites
- do you have content more about information or more about products, if you have review type of site it would be better to have some kind of affiliate products promoting.

But after all you need to test different things and find the solution that suits you best
