Default local SEO question

So my situation is this. I have one domain with 4 landing pages. The page in the city were my service business exists is gonna do well as soon as I get the google places postcard, but I am wondering what I should do for my three other landing pages?

I really only have one key phrase for each page but I know I should mix it up a bit for each page. I have been writing articles and leaving blog coments with anchor text in certain places. I just think i must be doing something wrong.

Here are some of the articles I have written carpet cleaning article vacuum article choosing carpet

I guess I am just wondering if I am doing this right and if there is something else I should be doing. I don't mind putting in the work at all, its just that I feel like I have lost my direction with regards to this project.

Start building high quality, dofollow anchor text backlinks, or outsource the work. See my Sig for more info.

I guess were I am confused on where I should create these backlinks, the highest PR links I seem to be able to get are blog comments and they really don't seem to index.

Any helps would be incredible! I don't mind doing work at all, its just I am now confused about were I should put the work in.

Writing articles on low-quality article directories (99% of the article directories) and spamming comments with anchor text on people's blogs, especially if they are not in the context of the conversation might only bring you negatives in the long term.

Some things that could help up your local SEO:

1) DO SOMETHING REAL!

2) By "DO SOMETHING REAL" I mean - don't lose your time with what you are currently doing. Start your own blog and promote it from there. With the time you will start getting links naturally. Furthermore, show your knowledge in your specialty in related blogs and forums. The warrior forum is definitely not relevant to carpet cleaning.

Wish you good luck.

If you look in my sig you'll see a product I released, I'll give you some help here about your question and you decide if you want to take it further.

I visited your site and I noticed that you have your main domain and some additional pages that are keyword targeted.

What I recommend you so is think about how you can mirror these pages in your Google Places listing, think categories. Make sure though, categories are what you do but what you are as a business, and keep any geo targeted keywords out of your category fields.

Onsite SEO is the most prevalent factor for ranking locally and in places. In many cases offsite SEO isn't required or if it is, its very minimal effort.

Hope this helps!
