Exact Match Domain vs Exact Match Domain + Word

Hello Warriors! I have been reading this forum for a few weeks now, and am ready to start taking steps to make my first niche site, but I need a bit of advice.

In doing my keyword research I am finding very few viable keywords that I can get an exact match domain for. I have found a few, but they tend to be even more micro-niche than I am shooting for.

My question is this, how important is it to have an exact match domain compared to an exact match domain + another word. Something along the lines of:

brand new carpet dot com
vs.
brand new carpet world dot com

I know the importance here will depend on the competitiveness of the niche more than anything, but if you could give me an idea of the potential for each of these domain types, that would help me out a lot!
