I am going crazy here. I'm trying to make text into am image ad. I make this in paint and make it pretty large. Save as .jpg and upload to photobucket. Then I take the html code and paste it into ad textbox in CL. The image is so small that you cannot read the text. I have no idea what I could be doing wrong. I've watched multiple videos showing this working great and read tutorials, etc. Help! Thanks |

You need to resize your image in paint then test your HTML here. HTML Test Bed Then upload to it Photobucket. |

I've figured out the issue. It's because I was using a free Photobucket account. I finally found this after searching everywhere. Once I signed up for a paid account, I was able to upload to photobucket in the original size. Then all the steps I did worked perfectly in CL. Now my next issue is that I can't seem to place invisible text in my Cl ads. I've been reading about this and watching tutorials with no luck. I finally viewed the page source in CL and it is stripping out my font color. After some more research, I found that CL strips out any font color other than about six that they will allow. If I'm wrong on this, or if there's another way to do it, can someone please chime in? Thanks |

I tried hosting from my own domain, but I couldn't get the pictures to show up. I read somewhere to check if the host allows direct linking, but I didn't check. Photobucket was cheap enough that I just went ahead and got an account there. I felt like the files were a little easier to manage there too, other than on my own domain. Anyway, I finally got it. Thanks everyone. |

What I was doing when I was uploading "text" images to Craigslist is, I first uploaded the ad and then screen-printed it and cropped the screenshot in Photoshop, so that the text is in the format Craigslist use for text in their ads.

Will Craigslist ban your advert if you post your website's link?

I use imgur.com for hosting images that I post to various places. It's easy and free.
