Adsense check can't be verified by citibank

Does anyone know how I might go about contacting google over this matter, for some reason citibank can't verify my adsense check and said even if I open an account with them the check still wont clear because it can't be verified.I would just be without my money, I'm in philly, and have cash my check at citibank many times without any problem it's just this last one. I will be getting direct deposit in future, I tried to avoid bank accounts due to there overdraft charges and other penalties.

I use a local bank & have never had a problem with checks before I started direct deposit.

Did you try another bank?

Maybe Citibank is the problem?

Citibank is on the check so that's the only place I've tried so far, but I will try another bank and see what happens.

Does the check have any type of contact number (phone#) to the bank that Google deals with?

I haven't had a paper check for a while I can't remember If it has a number or not.

First off I just want to say thank you very much for taking the time to help me, second I never thought to look at back of the check lol. there's a number for citibank global on the back, but I have been researching this issue and found similar situations on google support forum. I will contact them and see if they can cancel this check and credit my account and than I do direct deposit.

without ay doubt you will not get ay kind of help from Google. the only thing that you can do is to search for the other people in your country, if they have faced any kind of problem depositing money this month.
if they did then make a notice in Citi bank with a CC to Google.
its the only way dude

I was in banking for over 8 years.

Do not bother going to another bank. No other bank that you do not have an account with is going to cash the check. It is not their check and they have no way of verifying funds.

Some accounts can be setup that do not allow checks to be cashed, even from the bank they are drawn on. They have to be deposited into an account with the payee's name on it. It might sound silly, but if they are doing that, it is Google's way of taking a little extra precaution in ensuring they are paying the correct person, and in fact a real person, not someone that used false identification to setup an AdSense account.

good news guys after submitting my check info to google they replied saying Thanks for your request. We've started the reissue process for your
payment and placed a stop payment on your check number ********. If you
happen to receive the original check, please do not deposit it, as your
bank may charge fees for depositing a stopped check.

Within about 15 days, your earnings will be credited back into your
account and you'll see a 'Check stopped - earnings credited back' line
appear on your Payments page. If this line appears before the 15th of the
month, your earnings will be included in that month's payment cycle. If it
appears after the 15th, your earnings will be included in next month's
payment cycle.

If you'd like to update your form of payment to receive your payment by
another means, please do so between the 1st and 15th of the month. If you
update your form of payment after the 15th of the month, we can't
guarantee you'll receive your payment in the manner you've chosen.

Google is not as bad as some people make them out to be. I receive this e-mail within a hour of filling out the reissue form that I found earlier today.

I would do this, in this exact order:

1. Put a Hold on your Adsense payments inside your Adsense Admin.
2. Open a checking account with your local bank.
3. Setup direct deposit & get the test deposit confirmed with your local bank.
4. Turn off Hold on the Adsense payment.
5. Wait until the next regular Adsense payment.

that is exactly what I did earlier, thank you for all the good advice.

I think the cut-off date for removing a self activated Adsense payment Hold is the 15th of each month. It's possible it could take a couple of months to get everything straightened out, considering today is the 12th.
