I've some budget to buy high pr domains (like the ones from Godaddy Closeouts), unrelated to what i do of course.

Would be good to use these assets just to build backlinks to my article marketing strategy?

Thanks!
Rob

high PR domains is no good if there is no good quality contents/traffic on those sites. You can buy high page rank domains but you should better put some quality contents and maintain a quality traffic before the PR drops down on those sites.

If you want to buy only domain you can't say that those are high PR.
If you want to buy something with high PR you must buy domain with some subpages, meaning whole website. You must then keep the structure of this website intact, otherwise Google will detect change and lower the value of PR and other metrics.

If you want to play with buying websites for link building you should investigate concept of building a website pyramid.

I have no idea what the two previous responses are trying to say but buying aged domains with Pr is by FAR more economical than buying links. In fact I would say long term if you have multiple keywords and multiple sites to rank then it beats ANYTHING out there even buying software, using outsourcers etc - if you do enough of it to truly rank your sites.

I just want to add that if you do buy the domains and planned to link back to all your sites I would take a extra safety measure and be sure they are all hosted on unique IP's that are definitely different from your money site IP's. If you bought five of these domains and they are all on the same IP address, I do not believe they will have the same value as if they were all on unique C class IP's. I personally have not gone down this road for getting back links, but I can see how it would be very useful!

i would advise to buy high pr domains as they can be very useful in any seo campaign. make sure to do your checks first on the domains you propose to purchase, like checking for fake pr etc

Just be careful about buying PR domains as the PR can easily be faked.

So were the domains you were intending to buy turn out to be simply 301 redirects to another (high PR) domain?

Thank You guys for the answers!
    Let's recap a little.

    1) Closeout Domains i want to buy are NOT related to what i do, but some of them are "not lenghty" domains that could be used, for example, to build backlinks. My idea was not targeting directly my "money site", but building a bridge to the articles i wrote in various article marketing directories.

    2) So far these domains are not equipped with a full structure, just a godaddy landing page. So i guess it's impossible to build a web site like the one that once existed, and, even if it would be possible to recovery the original site structure, it couldn't be done anyway because this will be a totally different kind of asset.

    3) I agree cost is usually very low and i bet i've paid some gigs here and there for a lower final quality work.

    4) I agree about the fact that the domain should be very very far from the linked resources, both directly and non (in this case teir1 would be articles i published, teir2 my direct web properties).

    5) Let's make a real example, one of these domains would be:
    ishiur dot org
Isn't that appealing to have... let's say 10 domains like these that points to your articles with a well rewritten abstract for each one?

Really, really thank you Guys. You're Handsome

I'd say yes, but i wasn't doing that on purpose . I was too excited and forgot to check :/. Well, assuming that we could find some "natural pr" domains, would my idea still be useless?

If the pagerank of those websites are natural and also they don't loss pagerank on the next Google pagerank update by removing their backlinks, its a good suggestion to buy and use them for linking to your other domains as you said.

I would suggest buying aged domains. You can buy blogroll links... but you are only limited to what you buy. If you buy your own domain, you can post links whenever, however you want. problem is with buying domains is the upkeep/cost/time investments. So obviously buying blogroll links is cheaper and easier in the long run, but you are limited.

I would say buying a domain is cheaper in the long run, you can leverage the domain to get other links and sell links to help cover the cost of running and buying the domain.

I am a big believer in if your going to do something. Do it properly. I am only just starting to learn about this whole system, the first thing that I would say is check how many back links are going to the site. If there is only a few then maybe its not worth it.

In meantime, i'd rather to go for an aged domain name than a dropped one. They're safer, IMHO.

After 2 days of searching using scrapebox TDNAM plugin I was able to purchase a 1 year old PR5 domain for $5 on godaddy.com. I'm thinking about doing link exchange services with others. They put my url on there PR5 website and I put mine on theirs. I also have this wordpress theme I might use to market other peoples websites on the main page: MakeDesign,NotWar | Theme: Sidewinder for a monthly fee.

    What do you guys think?
