Default No Adsense Clicks for Six Days

I need opinions as to why for six days I've received no adsense clicks at all from the site in my signature.

I had in mind when I created the site a couiple of years ago that it would do okay with adsense, but even though I didn't expect this niche to make me rich, I've been very disappointed. At least, most days I do get Amazon sales. But I want adsense, too! The most I've ever made in adsense from this site has been around $5/week. I used to have sidebar ads, or a small banner at the top, and have tried different fonts sizes, trying to get a more successful click thru rate.

One thing I did differently with these ad units is that I slightly increased the padding so there is a tad more space between the ads and the content. Personally, I like this better...but maybe this is my problem?

The ad unit on the page in my signature has had 93 ad requests since Feb. 19 when I put in this particular ad unit on the home page and on the five other pages in the "bunions on feet overview" section, but no clicks. Between Feb 16 and 19, I had a different ad unit that is now only on the "bunion treatment overview" page. This larger ad unit with a different font has had 254 ad requests since Feb. 16, but no clicks.

Previously, I would occasionally go two days, maybe three, without a click, but after these new ad units and new layout, I've had the longest dry spell ever.

Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks so much.

Catherine

- You need more traffic.

- I'd remove the left sidebar and make the right sidebar wider.

- I'd place a second 336x280 unit immediately after the post content. (keep the one at the top)

You can't judge how effective an ad is doing by looking at 93 impressions, or even 250. The thing about adsense is you can have 4 visitors in a row click on an ad, and then you can have your next 500 not click any.

I personally believe you need between 5-10,000 ad impressions after making a change to see if it was effective.

Thanks for the feedback so far, but Retsek, why should I remove the left sidebar? Is it too distracting? The thing is I want the ads in the left sidebar to be prominent, and separate from the list of pages in the right sidebar. If I had a wider right sidebar and made it two columns, would that be okay?

All I see is a single Adsense Ad on the Index page, I don't see any Adsense on the other random internal pages I checked.

Does the entire site just have that one Adsense Ad?

Yukon, I do not have ads on the pages focused on Amazon products (the child pages under Bunion Treatment Overview), but I do on the five other pages besides the index page in the Bunions on Feet Overview section. Plus, on the Bunion Treatment Overview parent page, I have an ad unit.

I don't know why you aren't seeing them.

But, yes, I'm only using one ad unit per page. I guess that's just not enough? I've never felt clear about the best way to combine adsense with amazon affiliate links, so I'm going easy, obviously too easy, on the adsense ads.

The site is too "busy." Too many distractions. Too many things that draw the eye AWAY from the ads. The bold text is too bold and dark, and the blue ads are too light.

Personally, ALL of my links would be near the text color and only the ads would stand out in blue. I would want the eye to fall immediately on the ads. This site doesn't do that. That's my opinion, anyway.
