I recently run some campaigns on Facebook Ads. One thing that is really not very pleasing is the way you can use keywords here. Most of the keywords you would use are simply not there. For instance for a Work at Home Product you would use easily 100 good keywords on Google Adwords. The best I came up on Facebook were: - money - making money - work - working - computer - computers Maybe we can discuss this a little more to improve our ability to market with Facebook Ads. 1. Does anybody has found a good way of finding the right keywords? 2. How do you find out if a keyword like "working" is even targeting the kind of people you had in mind when generating the 100+ keywords for Adwords? 3. Is there a list of available keywords for facebook anywhere? Or where do you get the Facebook keywords for your ads from? |

you can't compare FB ads with search engine marketing, two totally different animals. If you use a keyword like money you're not going to have great success. If you use something like internet marketing. You'll do a lot better but the traffic might not be there. I've made some money with FB and think generally targeting demographics is where the potential is. |

So all that is left a such broad keywords as "money" and "making money", that was the main issue of my posting. Or is there something more to it? Using demographic targeting such as age, geo or gender, I don't know, but this seems to be even broader than a keyword on most cases!? | |

Are you trying to advertise on facebook or did I misunderstand? If it is advertising then it is certainly worthless because given that they cannot target a popular term like internet marketing, it clearly implies that the people on facebook are not all types of people. The conversion may not be predictable even if the traffic comes.

IMO, if a keyword IS available on FB, that means there are a lot of people interested in that keyword. For example, I had a Jonas Brothers e-mail submit I wanted to run. I targetted the keyword "Jonas Brothers" and selected and age range. I made $500 in 3 days. I also ran the same ad using the keyword "Nick Jonas", etc.. Because of the popularity of these people, they are available as keywords and the traffic is about as targeted as it can get. You just have to be creative. lets say you're trying to advertize face creams or teeth whiteners. Your demographic would be middle aged women. Instead of targetting a keyword like "face cream", you'd target something like "Housewives Of Atlanta", etc.. |
