If you haven’t noticed I’m new here. I haven’t had a chance to read everything but in the "Top three SEO tips" thread there were the following tips: Quote:
Also, when I write an article or create a Squidoo website on a post that I have on a blog, would it be a good idea to re-word it to ensure it’s unique content or would this be a minor concern? | |

Mirroring means to make the sites the same at both locations. Some people say that duplicate content is a bad thing. Personally, I think that the duplicate content penalty is a myth propagated by those with something different to sell. Personally, if duplicate content is as bad as they say it is, then my sites should not have as many top ten listings in Google as they really have. To me the proof is in the results. If duplicate content is bad, I should see Google spanking my butt on a daily basis, but they don't. Google actually treats me very well. My whole take on the duplicate content issue is that you should always develop your content for human readers first and foremost. If you are creating good content that people appreciate, then you have nothing to fear from duplicate content. |

I agree with tpw... I think most people would do well to completely forget about the "duplicate content" rule. It really only comes into play when you are posting duplicate content on your own site. The architecture of Flickr and Picasaweb; Blogger and WordPress; Weebly and Squidoo; is all so different that the same article and content will appear different to the spiders. As long as the content is good and adds value, there is no reason not to spread it around.
