Does Google Prefer DM & MC Over YT?

Does Google prefer Daily Motion and MetaCafe videos over YouTube videos?

I've noticed that when I upload the same video to all 3 sites, using the same title, tags, etc. that the DM and MC videos often outrank the YT video in Google even though the YouTube video has far more views.

Do you think it's possible that Google looks more highly upon these sites than the site that THEY OWN?

Tell me your thoughts.

I post to Vimeo and Veoh as well, but MetaCafe and DailyMotion seems to always rank the highest. Just want an explanation as to why.

Why would they? Google loves properties they own. I have no data on the subject either way, but I rarely see Vimeo videos in most searches I perform.

I'm not sure about the reasoning behind this, but your correct if you consistently upload to all of the vid sites you will notice, depending on the keywords different sites will out rank others seemingly on a random basis, If I'm not mistaken of of the two that you mention don't allow blatant commercial video's which means more value and maybe google likes that and gives it a better position... just a theory.... don't think anyone definitively knows why unless they know the algorithm behind it.

Yea. My reason for asking this question is because I want to add backlinks and views to my videos. Obviously if I'm going to put time, money and effort into promoting the videos, I want to focus on the videos that are going to perform the best in the SE's.

My DailyMotion and MetaCafe videos are definitely outranking my YouTube videos for certain keywords, so should I build backlinks to them instead of the YouTube videos?

Please let me know what you guys think.

I can confirm that, I've seen MetaCafe vids rank very well on several occasions and have also wondered why. My take on this: I think, it's because YouTube is an overcrowded place swarming with spam.

Not sure about that. Does your traffic mostly come from Google Search or YouTube? I'm asking, because, when looking for a video, most people would go straight to YT.

By the way, I believe it's embeds (hotlinks) what makes a video rank higher, not backlinks (at least not so much). Am I wrong?

Anyhow, I think it would be wise to do both: try to up your videos' positions in Google Search and promote your YouTube vids as well in case someone searches for them on YT.

It's a relatively new venture so I'm not sure where most of the traffic is going to come from. I would like to gear it towards Google and then hopefully YouTube would follow.

I'm just thinking that Google obviously likes the Metacafe and Dailymotion sites right now so I should try to backlink them and let them climb since they outrank YouTube (the most popular site) already.
