Ranking a Large Site With Lyrics - You Know, The Ones With All The Same Content

How do all those sites with lyrics from our fav. Musicians rank with the same content? Yea, I know they all are matured, old as ****, have authority, and most have spammy ads for ringtones. lol But do they not get pushed down in the serps? Something I have been curious about for a long time.

Would love to hear your thoughts.
