Beside Google's major updates there could be many other reasons of rank dropping e.g. dilution in backlinks. How old is your site as this frequently happens to new sites.

First Stop what ever your doing! "Over-optimization" penalty water down it with generic anchor text or related anchor text. Use click here, more info, view this page, etc. |

Some other websites faced this problem and their problem fixed after 1-2 days. You can wait some days to see the future situations. If you did everything well for promoting your site, this problem will be solved in next days.

Something big has definatly gone down and it seems lots are on the wrong side of it. Some sites have seen rankings drop and return in the space of 24hrs and some have seen them just drop. From what I have seen for the moment it looks like smaller sites that target longer KW's which I suppose are the ones moer likley to be on a smaller budget and using automated tools and link packages etc. |
