Default Dam ! I`ve not sandboxed my new site already have i ??

Hi guys,

I`ve just built a new site that i`m going to put adsense onto started with about 10 pages all 700 + words , videos, good onpage seo and everything to try to add some quality to the web after i`ve been hit with panda or what ever caused my sites to drop about 4 months ago and then BMR my main source of BL.

So i built my new adsense site and well i think i`ve sent it into the sandbox or what ever that dark place is call because i stupidly put about 5 pages of my new site in SocialADR the social bookmarking service and it blasted about 150 - 200 social bookmarks over i think 5 or 6 pages that i added to socialADR

The keywords are very very easy to rank for as i was just trying to get some easy traffic with high paying clicks to the site to start it off i also sent a article to ezine articles linking back to a page and the homepage of my site. I remember checking the rank of each page and i could see them at about position 60/80 in the serps US but... now when i check the pages are not even in the top 100

I`m so pi$$ed off i spent quite a bit of money and time on this site but i really think i`ve wasted my time and its been sandboxed what do you guys thing ? i`m really hoping someone says it the google dance coz this will make me feel better lol but seriously do you guys think that a blast of 150 to 200 social bookmarks spread over 5 pages at about 40 bookmarks per page would be enough to sandbox or what ever the dark place is my site ??

Please advice

Jim

Keep adding quality content. Don't be so paranoid.

There is no reason to think that Google has the time or energy to select your brand new website and penalize it!

EITHER your positive rankings before were just a recency bonus, and your current rankings are your true position.

OR you are just dancing.

Give it at least a week or two before worrying.

Regards
Will

As long as the blast wasn't all at once, and the anchor text was diversified then you should be just dancing.

I think the social bookmarks call it 200 of them where sent to 5 pages in around 2 or 3 days it wasnt long i mean why wouldn`t it send up red flags to google sorry if i`m being down on myself but thats 200 backlinks with about 30 human visits to the site i hope its just a dance but the keywords are easy to rank for with good on page seo they should be showing in the top 100

Really you think that social bookmarks cannot hurt a site ? thats good news because thats all i did but again i checked the ranking of the pages today and there not in the top 100 on google but some of them are at 4 - 5 - 8 spots on bing and yahoo and i just worry because i blasted 200 bookmarks at a site that has only had 30 visitors so in googles eye why did 200 folks bookmark my site ?

New sites need to earn trust in the search engines. You can actually cause a "penalty" of sorts by being too aggressive with the wrong types of links to your site. In other words, blasting your website with social bookmarks can lengthen the amount of time it takes to rank because of suspicious linking activity.

But all is not lost. Expand your link building methods. Vary your anchor text. Don't just spam the search engines. Use good content and send the content to high authority websites. Your site will come back.

All new sites go through the sandbox; the sandbox is not a penalty. To check if you have been penalized, type the keyword that your site was trying to rank for and go to the last page of the SERPs (usually it's about page 40-60 for most keywords). If you see the pages of your site on the last page, then it's penalized. If not, then it's just a Google dance.
I started a site about 3 months ago and only built links with 1 anchor text and all pointing to the homepage (no variation at all). It was ranking #4 for its keyword until about two months ago it disappeared from the SERPs; I thought it was the dance but then I realized that all of its pages (even the privacy policy page) were on the last page (page 47) for its keyword, meaning Google had detected the lack of link variation for my new site and purposely placed it dead last in the SERPs as a penalty. It's been over 60 days and the penalty still hasn't expired, I've definitely learned my lesson.

I think this is just a way for google to shuffle the results around and judge a newer site. Since you started this site up new, you will see bouncing around.

So this is normal I believe. Blasting the site with the 200 bookmarks probably wasn't the best thing to do though all in one shot.

But you should be fine.

Goodluck!

Well i didnt build the site around 1 keyword the homepage is very open and hasn`t been backlinked at all i just added posts with low com and backlinked these pages each with a different keyword but i did grab one keyword `cheap dental implant` and see if i was on the last page like you say above and tell you the truth i couldn`t even find the post on any page in the google UK serps ??

Anyway heres the site Dental Surgery : The Largest Dental Resource Online. again i have no target keyword for the homepage just the inner pages but Cheap Dental Implants | Dental Implants | Cosmetic Dentistry keyword cheap dental implants i cannot find it anywhere lol

Tell you the truth i`m pi$$ed off with the whole SEO thing now really am need to find other ways of getting traffic other then google i used to think this was easy said than done but as things are today not sure if that still holds ground

Lol give me a break man does the keyword `how much do braces cost for adults` look like it takes some ranking or `braces behind the teeth` ? I know the main theme of the site is a tough cookie but the pages should be a doddle !
