How do I get back after a google penalty

I am doing seo for a new site... last week I found the site to have dropped a little in its ranking, so I thought I might have over optimized the site and dropped a few links I have provided through bookmarking...that I feel was a costly mistake...now I am almost out of Google listing...can someone tell me how to get back in Google.

New domains bounce around at first, especially if they don't have good incoming links. That's just the way things are with Google. Keep getting backlinks, especially quality relevant backlinks, and things will settle down.

It normally takes 3 weeks to stablize, may wait up to 3 months.

Meanwhile, stop worry about the listing, just build more back links and your page should have keyword targeted articles to get traffic, else even with tons of backlinks, you won't get traffic.

Thanks if it is so its okay but I have a feeling it is more than that I lost listing even for the domain name...that definitely look like a penalty.

It has become common now for new domains to drop out of search results entirely where this didn't occur so much before. Google apparently made some changes to their algorithms recently that causes this to happen. Don't worry about it, go get some good links.

just remember quality backlinks are far more better than quantity, after a month it should be back where it was before, and if you were doing great then it may be on first or second page.
