PENGUIN update is over for me

hi warriors,
As all of you know that google updated its algo at 24th and a huge number of sites get slapped by google.
My five real estate website were also got slapped, MY websites got descended from #3 (#3 was avg ranking of my websites for all major keywords) to page 60+.
Well i admit that my websites are overly optimized and contains a software for realestate listing which creates alot of duplicate content (as most of real estate websites use same software for MLS listing).

I just submitted my website at google [though the url given by google and discussed a lot on this form] and today i got my ranking back for all my keywords. SO Penguin horror is over for me. And i think my SEO techniques PANDA and Penguin Proof and one of my website got PR5 .

Well my money site came back yesterday , without submiting anything to google..

I am glad to hear that. It gives us hope for our sites to come back too. So, have you done any editing to your website before you've submitted it to google? If yes, might wanna share it in here so that we could get more ideas..... Thanks

What form did you use? and what did infomation did you give Google?

Duplicate content is bad for ranking. But, gtting back ot the previous position is really good news for you. I hope you will share your experience of regaining previous ranking.

Hi Sarah

In very high-level terms Panda was aimed at getting rid of low quality sites such as auto blogs with low quality duplicate content whereas as Penguin was predominantly designed to target over-optimized sites and sites that were using unnatural back-links such as blog networks to rank better.

The chances are that if your site was going to be affected it would have already happened but you can try to prevent it by only using high quality, original content, using on-page SEO sparingly and being careful where you get your backlinks from.

I hate to be Debbie Downer, but I don't believe it. I've been through all the algo changes and this is the most devastating to my site in 10 years. I don't know if I'm going to be able to come back.

I just read on searchengineland that there has been a confirmed Panda update on Friday, April 27th (That was just after Penguin). So, it's possible that there was another update this week. @amiramin when did your site recover?.

My site never got touched. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones? I just got a google ranking of 4.

I've seen some of my keywords recover post-penguin, but not all of them and not all the same day. I still have a ton of keywords that are way down, but a select few have bounced back into the top 5 and even a #1 spot, which is where it was before.

I've changed my on-site SEO a bit to cut down on possible over-optimization and also made some code changes to add some features. Twice in the last week I've resubmitted my sitemap to google. I don't know if any of that helped, or if they are going through keyword by keyword, programmatically to fix sites that shouldn't have penalized. I certainly hope the trend continues.

Google would usually reply to you saying the webspam team detected something or did not (manual penalty, algorithmic change etc. etc.). Did they tell you something? If not, your site coming back may be independent of you submitting the reconsideration request.

Honestly, I'm not sure Penguin is over
Especially if you did nothing to your links or onpage SEO

Last year, when Panda hit, I had a few sites pop back up and a few that didn't
I think it's still to early to tell exactly what Penguin did and how to get back rankings

A friends site got the WMT notice, submitted there and his rankings got even worse. Now my site hasn't got any notice but all my rankings are gone except for a handful. I cant decide whether to ride this out or wait.

Well my site has been massivily penalized, although I didnt receive any WMT from google, maybe I should have not in any way . By the way I never received any WMT from google regarding my penguin penalty, neither any previews mistakes ( breaking webmaster tools laws) I were doing with my sites.. Never.

After amiramim history, I am willing to request google a reconsideration and my sites's SERP back.
BUT at the same time I am afraid if the samething that plsearch said with his friend, happens to me too.
