Default Backlinks After Google Update

Hi warriors,

We all know that backlinks play an important part with regard to how the big G (Google) rank your site. After reading a lot and hearing that many websites lost their rank after the last Google update. Do you warriors think that link building technique will still work or our website backlinks should grow naturally. When I say naturally, I mean other website owners linking to your site when they see value in it. Off course it will take years to have your site ranked high on Google but at least the links are legitimate not artificially created back-links using Scrapebox and other similar link-building techniques like forum profile, blog posts, etc.

Can the old link-building techniques still be used or not? If not, what new strategies can be used to create back-links which Google will see as real?

Thanks to all

Finding your purpose and do what you love is the most wonderful thing you can ever experience in life!

It's not whether they're old or new that matters.

It's whether they're legitimate or bought; whether they're natural or automated; whether they're relevant or spammy.

I still believe that links using scrapebox etc. are good. Yes, google went through an update but if you continue building diverse links, it really doesn't matter if you used some automated tools or did it yourself over a long period of time. If that were the case, then SEO would start taking months and months of time. SEO would die as we know it, if it started taking 6 months to get our sites ranked.

You still believe this while, all around you, people who have been using that kind of SEO have been filling threads here, the last couple of weeks, bemoaning the fact that their rankings have collapsed - or their sites have been de-indexed - because of it?!

http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...dont-dumb.html (You haven't noticed 100 threads like that one, recently, from people with sites de-indexed/penalized by Google, and Google told them openly that it was because they bought and/or automated their backlinks?! There's no big mystery about it!). http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ed-advice.html

Not necessarily so at all. All you need is content of such high quality that others with sites relevant to your own link to you voluntarily. This is the same good, reliable SEO model it's always been, but it pays much bigger rewards now, because so much of the webspam has at last been effectively removed from the SERP's.

As backlink-sellers know it, it just did. Maybe not all their customers noticed yet, but they gradually will.

Meanwhile, for the rest of us, only the spammy, automated, "paid-services" parts of it are dying, and many of us welcome that with open arms.

Maybe you find that unpalatable, or even unthinkable, but that's just how it is. Exactly as Google has been so openly warning and announcing for so long.

There's no point going into a state of denial over it.

We can all see for ourselves the ever-increasing regularity with which pages with lower-PR's and fewer (but relevant and good-quality!) backlinks are outranking higher-PR pages with huge numbers of spammy, irrelevant, obviously automated and/or paid-for backlinks. And if even you and I can tell at a glance that those backlinks are automated and/or paid for, it's not exactly "inventive" or "confabulatory" to imagine that Google can tell, too, is it?

One really doesn't need to be Einstein to see what's going on, here - especially with Google announcing and reinforcing it all the time.

You'd have to have buried your head really firmly in the sand(box) not to know what's happening and why!
Wake up and smell the coffee.

Hi mbacchi,

I won't say, that old SEO-methods are dying. I for instance still use same backlinking-techniques like before, for example forum-posting, blog-commenting, article-writing, bookmarking and so on.
It's not important where you get your backlinks - it's important how you get your backlinks. Don't be a spammer, create unique content, that helps others!

What does work and won't get you penalized:

Video submissions (can use software for that)
Doc sharing (can use software for that)
Web2.0s that are customized with good content (no software available for that)
Guestposts at relevant sites
Rented homepage links at relevant sites, not those with 100 OBL obvious
Article syndication, you can use Ezines for example or other non auto approve ones.
Legit meaningfull comments at relevant sites
Relevant webdirectories
Professional press releases (not those spammy senukex things)
Forum posting at relevant forums (inspired by the poster above me ).

What does not work and get you penalized:

Spammy retweets don't work anymore and can get sites penalized
Spammy article directories don't work anymore and can get you penalized
Spammy automatically created web2.0's dont work anymore
Spammy senukex campaigns don't work anymore
Spammy Xrumer profile links don't work anymore
Spammy scrapebox autoapprove comments don't work anymore
Spammy BMD bookmarks at pr0 sites don't work anymore

And ofcourse take anchor diversity into account. You can build only whitehat links, or perhaps greyhat links as 100% whitehat is pretty undoable, but if you use the same anchor 100% of the time you still have the risk of getting penalized.

Blasting away blindly with Scrapebox is a great way to get a site slapped. Manual commenting on non-spammed blogs is still just fine, but blasts are pretty much dead unless your site has some serious authority.

I'll still run Scrapebox on tiers & high authority sites. (YouTube videos, for example.) And it still seems effective. However, unlike most, I'm REALLY picky and try to go for 80/20 DoFollow/NoFollow.

good post, I'm also looking for this recntly.. I will try to use senukex with drip feed backlinks day by day consistently, I think it's still effective method than "1 blast" backlinking system.

Thanks for the reminder, I just added Senukex to my list of spammy links that don't work anymore lol.

Things have to change - the old methods do not work.

Blasts , spun content, > 15% anchor text (except brand name), limited link sources are all out in my opinion.

My current strategy, which constantly changes, is to limit my link building to one link a day.

If you look at natural link profiles not many links are created and the variation is huge. Most of the IM sites I look at have thousands of links with nicely stacked up money keyword anchor texts.

I think if we follow the standard way of link building, there wouldn't be any problem to occur.

People around us are talking about sites being de-indexed.

Yes, because all the sites that participated in 'shady' link bulding methods have tanked leaving sites like your new one at the top :-)

Just bought SB with the intention of finding relevant blogs to my niche and commenting manually. I know theres lot of other functions that I need to learn.

Will this approach work with google update?

Also sorry for maybe a silly question but are tiers another word for Pagerank?

The link building creation is still worth or it is now out dated? This topic has crated viral impact on webmasters. Lot's of debate going on about the link building process. Google penalizing only those website which are not following the guideline prescribed by Authority. People are getting involved them self in spammy link building process. Buying link is against the search engine guideline but still people are violating the policy. If you are getting link in search engine friendly way then it will never harm your website. Google also suggest to generate backlinks by using natural link building process.
