SEO and Recession period

Does this recession period affects Search engine Optimization Services?

What I have observed during recession is that more and more people are coming online to for search of opportunity and lots of sites are coming in parallel to this .

So , I do not think it is affected that much .

If anything i think the recession maybe good for SEO and Web marketing in general, i really think companies feel that online sales are much more cost effective than more traditional advertising. I am aware of a small local business that spends around $3000 a year with one well know directory, but for around half that could dominate their local keywords, it a no brainer, companies are being forced to think outside the box!

I agree with this scenario. A relative of mine has just turned to online sales to prop up his failing retail store - for the price of a months rent he got a new website, and for the price of another months rent he can get a ton of seo work done - once its up and running the idea is to ditch the actual store and save a whole load of costs in the bargin.

It seems to be more of a problem for small businesses, at least from what I've seen. Harder for small businesses to afford organic services and PPC. I would think for bigger companies they would invest more in online marketing because its well priced compared to traditional marketing. I know someone who specializes in PPC and they are increasing their number of clients. My guess is that more people will think it through before investing money in online marketing services than before.

Recession period had affected SEO and the web in a vey good way. Since, a lot of people has been laid off from their jobs that's why they are turning to the internet, they seek for jobs that could somehow help them earn money.

Recession period does not any affects Search engine Optimization Services. Small business & big industry both wants to promote their site so, it is good time for seo.

I think the recession is presenting some very interesting opportunities for real SEO companies, and the good ones are already capitalizing on this. I know I've been able to get more clients much easier than before, the internet is a powerful tool and most people have no idea how to use it. Now that they are afraid of loosing business, they are more open to exploring a little.
