Noob question on Pinging and Social Bookmarks

I've been searching/reading the thread for the last day or so to try and come up with a social bookmarking plan.

I've decided to use OnlyWire to submit to social bookmarking sights. Now my question is on pinging these submissions. From reading through the forum, I believe I have to ping all of these submissions so that the search engines pick these up quicker. Is that right?

If I'm on the right track, my next question is how do we ping all these submissions? I see people mentioning Pingomatic, Pingler, Ping.fm etc, but I'm not following. Best I can tell I have to go to each site that was submitted to, grab the URL for the link, then paste that link into one of these sites to get it pinged.

Pingomatic was 3 entry boxes Blog Name, Blog Home Page, RSS URL (optional). So is this where I should be entering the URL for the Digg bookmark? And what services do you ping?

I'm lost, and hoping to find some guidance. Thanks in advance.

Just put no. 1 and 2 for pingomatic. For No. 3 is optional. Yes you can put digg link there.

Thanks Sirtiman for taking the time to answer my question.

So basically the sites to use for Pinging, they are designed to put your blog in there, to get search engines to index it quicker. But we can also use them to index any link quicker, thus putting in the social media link (Digg, Delicious, Stumbleupon, etc, etc.) in there and it just lets the search engines know that something new is there, index it.

Now my next question is what services on Pingomatic do you choose? All of them?

use bulkping or indexkings tool to mass submit all the created backlinks for inexding.

TheProgrammer, OK so if I use bulkping, I need to manually copy each social bookmark link and then paste them all in there and click submit? Is there an easier way that I'm missing to get get all the links to ping?

If you use pingler and get the browser plugin it just allows you to right click on the page and click on ping this page
