Those are some good white hat sources of information and you can find a lot of good advice from those sources.

However, I can't believe everything that comes out of Mr. Cutts' mouth and a lot of the white hat seo information sources will parrot whatever he says. For an alternative opinion to stay up to date on SEO you might also want to visit SEOSunite - SEO Tools, Backlinks and More in addition to the sources mentioned above. It's always best to get a number of different view points so you can come to your own conclusions about what works and what doesn't.

I agree I feel he is just a front man for PR and just plays up to the investors :-)

Take everything you read with a pinch of salt and just do your own testing

Check out the following resources:
- Top 25 SEO blogs according to Pagerank, Alexa rank, number of Bloglines subscribers and Technorati authority
- This table shows the top blogs whilst displaying rss numbers, alexa
Go through the lists, take the time to read some of the articles, if you think the site is useful, add it to your RSS reader. Then make a habit of checking your RSS reader on a regular basis, so you can keep up to date.

The way I keep up to date on SEO is using twitter...

I only follow people who interest me and every morning before I start my day I lie in bed and read my twitter feed from the day before and see what everybody is talking about.

I wouldnt recommend using just one source for SEO information like I wouldnt recommend following just one person when it comes to SEO I like to follow lots of people then do my own testing and make my own decisions on what works.
