Arrow People Who Publish SEO WSOs - Please Stop that Doing this Nasty Thing

We live in a tough world and we all need to make money - ok. But there is a line. Somewhere it should be. I hope it should...

Today (as quite often) I was sniffing the great WSO section of this forum. I saw lots of interesting offers. Unfortunately some of the offers are "boasting" with great results on Google page 1. Yes, they are on Google page 1. BUT the trick is they say "Look, I am page 1 for keyword XYZ with <number> competing sites!" And this is considered to be a proof? This is close to SEO fake!!

How many times should other SEO experts and (poor me) say that the number of competing sites HAS NOTHING TO DO with the real link building competition.

To check the real link building competition - type into Google inanchor:"your keyword here" - (written like this for example - that's what I call competition - over 12 mln of web pages that also build backlinks). The simple typing of the keywords into Google will surely show you lots of pages, but it is possible that the majority of these web pages do not have a single incoming backlink with proper anchor text. And it means if you build just one backlink, you will leave most the *competitors* far behind and can boast with page 1 as well.

It is the same to saying "I earned 1,000,000!!!" (and do not say that 1 mln of not dollars or euro, but some currency where 1 mln = $5)

So, when I checked the inanchor for the *proofs* of some of the WSOs - wow, most of them had just a dozen or couple of dozens of sites to compete really with. But this is peanuts. Lots of warriors/SEO experts can take Google page 1 for such keywords (they are called keywords with low link building competition) hundred times in a row per week. No sweat!

Putting Google page 1 for such keywords as a proof of SEO validity of the strategy/product/solution/software is lame, unfair and unprofessional.

I am deliberately not naming any WSOs who are doing it to keep this thread unbiased.

But once again, warriors, open your eyes and read what SEO experts are recommending about the basics of this industry, in particular about checking the real link building competition. Otherwise don't get surprised to see that the products/services you are buying cannot push you to Google page 1 for any more-or-less-competitive keyword.

Great Freetraf. I would be really upset if one of the warriors will be using this forum to juice some of our fellow members who are trying their very best to make money online. This is an excellent information as I don't know about this. All I do simple check on google search and that's it. But with this I would know how to check my real competition.

Again Thanks Freetraf.

I think the key thing here is whether the examples of the keywords they are using actually making them any money or sales.

freetraff,

great post ... you know, I've been doing this for about 8 months now, didn't even know about the inanchor check, although i did feel for sure that some of these seo results were exaggerated ... heck, even when on page 1 it says "of 1 million results" you can go to page 2 and suddenly it's only 12,000 ...

great call, great post

Correct. But the WSOs that made me p*ssed off they don't say about it. If we take away the "water words" then you can see that this trick is one of the key elements to make people believe that the thing is working.

I have seen it often outside WarriorForum. One of the gurus (who simply created another submitter to Youtube, metacafe and some other networks - with the same solution being done dozens of times before) was showing *huge* keywords that on the inanchor check turned out to have ZERO competition.

But that was outside WarriorForum, this is life and we cannot change it.

But here, on WSO, this is hilarious!!
