I first started off with a small list of keywords in the webhost niche. Since I don't have a huge budge I decided I'll only go for content network for 5 cents/click, but I got very low impressions, I increased it to 10 cents still no luck then went upto 20 cents.. Started seeing some impressions but no clicks. Thank I got a huge keyword list around 1k and also turned on the search and content network for 20 cents.. guess what I drained of $10 in just 10 minutes!! I got 115 clicks but no sales I'm trying to promote hostgator through coupon code. I got all the clicks from searchnetwork none from content with total impression of 1000 from content network and 50,000 from search :PI have paused the campaign as of now. As I have no idea what to do next :s |

It looks like you definitely are in need of PPC training. Never group Search & Content Network keywords together. That's just one of your problems right there. Do a Google search for Perry Belcher and get some excellent PPC training on the cheap. ![]() Sean |

Don't worry, you are not the first person commit this mistake. But only good person can frankly admit it. If you wish you can read Perry Marshall Google Adwords Guide, very informative.

I am a beginner like you. To understand how to use Adwords I am using Perry Marshall's book and Adwords for idiots. They help a lot. To sell on Clickbank I am using Commission BluePrint. Between those 3 I learned how to select keywords, organize ad groups, test and scale campaigns to gradually start to create a return. There is so much hype and so many arrogant miracle claims: most of them are empty air. I think that, like in any other field you have learn how to do it. |

You are in good company since everyone struggles when they first get going. I also think you are in need of some PPC training. In addition to the other resources listed here, check out Gauher Chaudry's PPC Formula. Good luck! |

There is certainly some great training available on PPC. Perry's book is a great place to start. To answer your question.... 1,000 unique keywords is quite a bit. I have learned to use ONE keyword with several variations for the most targeted results. Are you promoting a HostGator Affiliate link? If your ad hasn't been disapproved yet, it probably will. Google does not allow affiliate links. Also, sending someone directly to a company page is not always the most effective way to make a sale. HostGator's home page has a lot of information and the people who clicked your link may have been overwhelmed or lost. Try creating your own Landing page with one or two options or an opt-in form. If you aren't getting impressions, your CPC is too low, or your ad is not relevant. Solid training courses can help you overcome these issues with ease. The $50-100 you spend on these courses will come back to you in SPADES for the money you DON'T spend on wasted clicks. Sean is right, Search and Content are separate beasts. Start with the search network and get some success going there first. Hope this helps, bro. |

absolutely agree with the feedback here - keep keyword lists short and increase relevance. read all the free advice in adwords itself. buy training. separate search and content... and... don't give up. we all had to learn sometime.
