Hi, I have been doing a ton of experimenting because I had over 300 sites that survived farmer and Panda but got gutted by Penguin.

I have been able to bring a lot of them back and wanted to share with you what has been working for me.

Backlinking

Nice slow steady backlinking of not more than 15 real anchor links per day hitting a site.
My backlink diversity has been working best like this:

I am finding that 20% real anchor test is working best.
WITH MOST of the other links not being related to closely to my real anchor I.E. things that are not even close).
I have been getting success with a pattern about like this:

20% real anchor say: cat Juggling
10% naked link
10% cat page, funny cats, cat stuff, funny kitties
10% pets, animals, wildlife etc... (kind of like taking keyword research one level up. Instead of drilling down go one level up to broader categories).
10% my funny stuff, humor stuff, funny etc..
20% click here, clik her, click her, look at this, llook here, here you go (misspelled intentionally)
20% save this, bookmark this, bockmark this, add this, keep it, my link, save as, save, sve etc... (misspelled intentionally)

Be sure your links come from a variety of sources not all one kind of link.

Keyword density 1-2% in the real body of the text. If you are using Quirk tool this will show around 3-4% with tags, titles etc...
LSI's at 2% sprinkled throughout.

text length 700 word minimum and am seeing slightly better with 1,200 or more.

Link out to one major authority site in your niche. That's really important "In Your Niche"!

At least one picture linking with a related keyword on page.

That's really about it. This has brought many sites back from page XXXXXXX to page 1. And the ones that were still on page 1 back up to good rankings.
