Updating your blog daily is not something that you must do. It is more important to be consistent and post original content on a regular basis (a few times a week). For example, if you write four posts a week, make sure two of them are built around your targeted keywords. In case you decide to write on your blog daily, make a schedule and write two or three posts with your keywords in mind.

You should always target your Keywords but you do not need to post everyday, 3-4 times per week is sufficient.

3-4 times per year can work just fine too. Depends on the site.
