It would be feasible to pick one of these keywords, build a site around that particular keyword(s), load the site with keyword juicy articles and then also load up a place like ezine articles with the same keyword juicy articles, do your normal blog pingings and in theory the traffic that comes in should be more profitable for you per click right?

It's not feasible to build a site around one of these terms. Because google now allows advertisers to show ads on only the search network and disallow ads on the content network, many of the ads for these terms would never show up on your site.

Looking up what keywords pay can point you in a good direction for a niche to target. However, the numbers mean little without knowing the number of searches, estimated number of clicks, and how much competition there is.

If a term pays $42, for example, has 60 searches a day, averages 3 clicks per day on those ads, and has 5 million sites as competition - do you really want to try to compete? Nope.

The amount an ad pays is determined by a google equation (which is not known) and determines the payout for each site. That will vary widely depending on whether you have an authority, highly ranked site or a new content site. An ad paying $30 for clicks on the search network may pay $1-2 on a content site if it shows at all.

Finding the highest paying keywords made sense before google separated the search and content networks a few years ago. Now it's only a starting point for researching whether a site in the niche might be profitable or not.

Ok, thanks for the reply. Would it be worth it to build a site that would sort of overlap the keyword(s) that pay high?

For instance, i have a couple niche sites that the average cost on the keywords most used on the site top out around 1.50 or so. Average click on any keyword in the adwords banners that pull from the content pays out around .30 or something like that. Nothing ground breaking.

I just started another site where the keywords cost an average between $4.00 and $8. That's the way to go - aim for the niches that contain these high paying phrases. You won't get the huge payouts but many people don't see $2 payouts on new sites.

I started a site not too long ago in a niche and have been pleasantly surprised to see $2-4 clicks consistently. I love it when that happens!

What I've found is that you'll occasionally get these big clicks, most likely when an Adwords newbie overpays for ads and doesn't exclude the content network. But for the most part you'll get much lower priced clicks.

You can work these terms if you know what you're doing but it is a very long and frustrating process and still may not always successful. It's generally better to find lower competition, lower paying, terms to work while developing your Adsense chops.

i think that if you have a site that, like i said, is built around a topic associated with these words, and adwords is content driven, then your articles, if they are oriented to these keywords should keep those big paying keywords floating on the top.

It depends. Most of these high priced Adwords buyers are advised to avoid the content network and only use search. This often leaves us content publishers out in the cold. The upside is that while you may not get that many, if any, $40 clicks you may still get $3-$6 clicks in that niche and, if you get enough targeted traffic, you can make a bit of nice money from just that alone.

So then if i put the google search button on my site, thats provided by adsense that it will up my chances of those super high keyword getting clicked by someone from my site? Not like its driving them there or anything, but i'm just trying to make those keywords availble every possible way i can think of, even for the chronic clickers.

I've been getting quite a few $2 clicks on a brand new site, so I've been feeling much more interested in continuing to push new content on the blog and try for higher paying clicks. It's much better than some of the .25 clicks I use to get.

This list seems like a lot easier money making gold-digger but in reality,Google holds all the equations in secret and there is no proven way that it will work if somebody targets niche like 'chicago personal-injury attorney' keyword.
Best thing is keep content clean,do your SEO right and periodically posting blogs and comments.

P.S.Don't forget to try different ways to make money like affiliate marketing.There can be ways to develop solutions to other's problem by software design or E-book or subscriptions too.I have always learnt -Never put all eggs in one basket.

Read through the information that Kay has posted in this thread to give you a better understanding of why you may not be earning from high paying keywords.

I like to type the keyword in Google to see what the competition is like.
For instance, if I take "car insurance quotes" from the high-paying keyword list and do a Google search.

On the first page of results I see companies like, Progressive, Allstate, Geico, Nationwide, etc. I'm not saying it is impossible to rank higher than these companies for the phrase "car insurance quotes". I am saying that your Adsense income earning efforts would be better spent on lower competition keywords.
