Free dofollow blog finder / commenter

Hey guys, I recently released a free dofollow blog finder and commenter and was looking through my logs and found some people had got to my site through a couple of posts where people were discussing it here. I tried to login to my original account but found that something happened with passwords a while ago (recaptcha is broken on reset password page).

Anyway I wanted this thread to be like an official support thread for my tool on this forum so that I can answer any questions you may have about it. I will start with a lil pitch and then proceed to answer any questions below.

The Free Blog Commenter has the following great features:

Yup, it has to be there though. If i don't put it there and I get someone enter their email address and get all uppity that I have sent them an email containing the download link I could get into some issues.

Better it there than not in my opinion. If you don't want to enter in your email address you don't have to

I have only ever sent out 1 email other than the first one containing the download link and that was to tell existing customers that I recently released ver3.0 and that is all. I will only email people to inform them that a product has been updated, never to just aimlessly spam.

Hehe thanks for the kind words. I have had such a great response from this tool it has far exceeded my expectations. I have had people on other forums PMing me asking to be beta testers on my future tools, saying they would pay for it if it was updated in the future and allsorts.

I have had lots more reviews than the ones listed above just that those ones I like

If you guys liked Comment Kahuna you will love this tool.

I'm not saying you shouldn't say it - just that you shouldn't hide it. Having it in big bold letters wouldn't bother me, but having it blatently hidden does.

It's not a reflection on you or the tool - I just thought you should know as I'm sure there are others who will feel the same and it's easy to change.

To be honest I would think that most people wouldn't notice it, kinda like the small print at the bottom of a loan application. I might look into changing it but as you are the first person out of more than 2000 people, downloaders this month, to notice it I may just leave it there.

I have also received ( I think) about a 70% conversion on that page which I consider to be pretty reasonable for a page like that. Have you tried the tool yourself? It is pretty damn good.

no worries - it's up to you, I just wanted you to know in case it put anyone else off.

I signed up for it but never got the download link so I haven't tried it yet, but it does a useful thing so if I do get it I'll certainly play with it to see how it helps in niches that have low traffic usually.

However, I have been having problems getting it to

Pretty much the only thing that this tool requires is a windows OS and the .NET framework v3.5:

This is the first thing mentioned in the manual that comes in the package. I suggest you read it, not just because it answers lots of questions but it goes into detail about how to fully use advanced features like rotating comment profile's and the proxy settings.

Yeah! That's true. Some people will feel very offended. Andy is definitely right. It's nothing too bad to hide about. Not something that you should hope people will most likely missed and be there just to protect yourself.

Nice tool there. I have just installed but not looked at the document/instructions yet. I love that this tool will look for blogs that are do follow and check PR, although the PR may not be relevant if it is a new blog post.

I really enjoy getting good comments on my blogs and if this tool makes that easier to do for others than I am all for it from a blogger perspective, from a commenters perspective as I said before this is a great tool

Yes, you are right. I downloaded and installed the .NET Framework v3.5
and it's now working PERFECTLY. I encourage everyone to get this. It's

Glad you guys are liking it so far. Thats pretty much the reaction I tend to get from people that have tried it.

If people have a problem with this post I will happily take it down, I just saw it had been mentioned in a couple of posts and decided to post here to help people with it and take any ideas people have. I have only emailed the list once to inform people that it was upgraded to ver3. Hopefully the mods don't mind me being here but if so Im happy for it to be taken down.

At the minute I don't know when another version will be released or for how much but I can say when I do it will be awesome and it won't be expensive like most other blog commenters are.

Why the heck don't you say this right on the download page what the system requirements are (or have a link to a subpage with the technical requirements)? As a Mac user it drives me batty when software tool makers require me to download the software before I can find out whether it's even usable on my computer. It's even more annoying when I need to give away my email address before I even get to the download.

One sentence is all I ask for.

Sorry about this Peggy, I will add it in somewhere on the page in the next day or so.

On a higher note though I have heard of a few people using this app on Linux and Mac OSX. Apparently apps like VMWare and Wine allow you to use the tool without any hitches. I realise this is a pain but I don't have any plans to start openly supporting Mac or Linux OSs any time soon so at least its an option in the short term.

Hey Jim,

I just downloaded it and made sure I had the Net framework installed.

When I start the program, it keeps opening a window that says I need to select a "debugger".

I attached a JPG image so you can see what I mean.

I keep clicking on "cancel" and it opens that window four times before the program actually is ready.

Any ideas what the problem might be?

A similar thing happened to a chap on another forum and to be honest we weren't able to sort it out. Turns out it was an issue between .NET 3.5 apps and whatever debugger was installed. It shouldn't prevent anything from working though, just that before you get to use it it will ask a bunch of times what debugged to use. Have you tried checking the box for setting as default debugger, it shouldn't pop up much after that.

Let me know how it goes and if you have any issues with the running of the app.

Hey Jimbo, been using your tool for awhile now, thanks again!

One issue I have is this though:

I do my commenting, and then when I click on your commenter program on my toolbar, it appears but it also often automatically opens up the same blog in my browser once and even multiple times sometimes, even other blogs on the list will open in my browser after just clicking ony our program from my taskbar.

Everything works great, but just something I have been noticing when using it.

Yup. This is, in my opinion, the last great bug to be ironed out. I have looked into it and know the source of the issue but am struggling to find a solution to the issue.

There is a bit of a work-around in the short term before I find the solution. If you leave one of the blog pages open while going back to the app it won't open another browser tab. Doing this you can get a whole bunch of pages loading at the same time which will speed the whole process up also.

Hope that helps a bit for now.

Jim, I was about to tell you that I'm also getting the same thing that jsherloc is getting.

I'm using Firefox too and when I close the Firefox window and click back onto the Free Blogger software, it automatically opens the same window that I had clicked on before.

It's a strange little bug, which is kind of annoying because I keep getting the same window open twice, sometime three times.

And I'm not clicking on the blog link or anything. It does this just as I go back to the software program.

Other than this annoyance, the software is working fine and I appreciate the time you've put into it.

Yeah it is annoying but at present it is a known bug and I am working on it. Hopefully it won't be too long.

But as you say other than that it is a great tool and will help to get a huge amount of quality relevant high PR dofollow links.

I always found comment kahuna to be fairly useful but the 50 page result limit was seriously lacking and was a needless limitation placed on it. Glad you like my commenter.

One suggestion though. Rather than maintaining a list that you aren't going to market to just so you can send out update notifications, you're using .NET anyway, have you considered ClickOnce deployment? That would make updates painless and automatic.

Hehe thanks for that steve. To be honest its been a few years since touching VS and I didn't even know about ClickOnce, this is my first desktop app in about 3 years lol

Err what makes you think that being into BlueFart is synonomous with being naughty or under-handed at all. I can guarantee you that there are no secret functions in this app and I welcome you to run a packet sniffer on it and any number of AV programs you want and you will not find anything fancy going on here other than searching Yahoo and dealing with blogs.

I have had this app discussed on many forums, WH and BH alike and I can tell you that it has been under much scrutiny from a lot of paranoid folks and it has yet to raise a single red flag ( apart from that one time from that guy who claimed it was virus but then realised he scanned a different file).

My main aim in releasing this app is purely so that I can get my name out there so its easier for me to sell my premium tools. I don't mind saying this in public as nothing is ever really for free, I have a couple more tools that I won't be charging for but in the end my big projects will be paid for only. If I were to put any sort of virus or trojan in with this app that would just destroy my name from the outset and this is not what Im about.

If you still don't wanna check it out that is fine with me, leave it a few weeks or even a few months then when you come back and see nobody has mentioned any strange activity you will feel safe in the knowledge that you can use it without issue.

A rar file is just like a zip, you need to unzip it with something like winrar: WinRAR - Free software downloads and reviews - CNET Download.com

I'm assuming this is similar to Fast Blog Finder? I already have the paid version of this so I probs won't download this tool but if it does what it says on the tin, then Jim has done a good deed here.

It is similar to that only it is aimed at a few choice blog comment platforms that give more link weight than the average wordpress blog. They are bost good tools that compliment each other I would say.

There have been a few apps of this type on DP, some good, lots crap. This is definitely one of the better ones. A member on DP is actually trying to sell this tool on at the minute, gotta say Im surprised nobody at that crap forum is interested in takedown requests from copyright owners.

Hey man you are welcome to your own opinion but honestly is this comment a joke? I had Fast blog finder, comment kahuna and blog comment Demon 1 before I started making this tool and I have to say out of all the ones I tried FBF was the worst by a decent margin.

FBF isn't all that fast and it only pulls up nofollow blogs. If you wanna PM me the keywords you used that resulted in finding the same blogs I would be happy to look at it but this is not mine or other people's experience with my tool.

Also if anyone else is having any issues with it just drop me a PM and I would be happy to try and resolve it for you.
