Right? My friend's paranoid that FBI will go after him if he doesn't use his real name to register the domain. Does anyone really check it? |

There are many possible reasons that someone may choose an alias, not all of them are criminal. I've never heard of anyone being targeted simply for using an alias in registering your domain name. In fact, most registrars offer privacy registrations as a service and I've never heard of anyone being targeted for that either. I do believe that ICANN registration requires that you have valid and up to date contact information, I don't recall seeing any prohibition of using an aliases though. |

I used an alias before on a domain name. Someone reported it to ICANN for invalid information and my domain was suspended till I provided valid information. I am sure it was a fellow competitor. |
